Hi everyone,

I'm hoping if you can share any information or experiences about your first arrival to Doha working for QP. I will mobilize in a month.

What hotel is provided for the first few days?

What and where temporary housing is provided for family of 4?

How long does it take to get initial money such as temporary transport, initial household allowance (6K I think), and advance salary? Do I need to wait until the end of the month or I can get these allowances sooner?

The HR said my family cannot mobilize with me until I get my RP. Is that true? What about they can come as tourist visa on arrival. If so, will QP provide airline tickets for my family as part of paid mobilization?

My concern is that I might not be qualified for married status if they don't reside in Qatar more than 6 months (Jan-Dec calendar year)?

Sorry for such a long post. Thank you in advance for your inputs.

I hope you are not Avinash from Ahmedabad type of person...I read 1-2 months back that a person named by that was trying to get stupid information and spreading HR internal information here on QL.Please be sure that one single small mistake and you will back to India. So try to ask everything to QP HR directly and refrain this sophisticated topic to yourself.May be somebody from QP is reading this and your life will be hell here.It seems you dont have common sense at all.How come they selected you even. You are not a professional person it seems. You are so insecure and kiddish.Be serious man.

QP does not have priority for schools. I have many frens in QP still who goes through the same waiting list as everyone else.

xpatadventure..

Normally the family can come with you and QP can arrange the tickets for you or you can buy the tickets and they will reimburse you. remember you only get one way mobilisation ticket!

Now before QP used to arrange visa for Employee plus family and they used to come together, then used to transfer over to the Employees sponsorship once he gets RP. I am not aware of the new arrangements they may have in place.

QP are currently putting new arrivals in Holiday Villa hotel which is a 4 star hotel, but they might change that.

As you are coming on family status you will be allocated a four bedroom villa in Al Bayan compound for up to three months. If you need any specific questions answering contact HR or me via my PM.

Hi. You should ask for the list of approved schools depending on your nationality. Some schools have priority for QP employees.

Well, the contract indicates that employee can get advance salary and initial cash for car and household, but it doesn't say anything when the employee can receive it. I know that can be answered but just hope that QL can give some insight experience. Thx.

We are in the same boat got the QP offer yesterday so will be following your thread with great interest.

Schooling for us is a big concern as we have two boys in secondary school, might be coming over next week to look-see.

If you family comes in within the period of QP accomodation, I believe they will change. At the moment, you are single status only, so all the single status benefits apply. QP will pay you your initial $$ during yr 1st 2 days of arrival. But it's advisable to carry some minimum cash when you land here.

QP should inform you all things you need to know based on your query here like financial advance prior to settle in doha, car allowances, temporary accommodation and etc. WELCOME BACK TO QATAR.

Are u planning to come empty handed that for car rental and household also u need QP to pay for. What if they dont? And dont worry about accomodation, they will fix in right home depending upon how many are gonna live together. Sometimes even bachlors are accomodated in 3 BR villas.

Thank you for your advice. Ideally, I would mobilize first and then fly my family over after two weeks, but not until my RP as I was told could take up to 6 weeks. I am familiar with Doha as I worked there a few years ago.

What about bachelor versus family accommodation the first few weeks? Will they only provide family accommodation once my family arrive?

Anyone working for QP? Would love to hear from you about initial cash for new comer to setup car rental, household needs, etc.?

Thx.

Normally QP will put you in 5 star hotels. I believe they have few here. As for temp accomodation, I know 7 pearl in AL Saad is one of them. Normally it's only for about 2-3 months before you are asked to move out.

It's best to get yr RP first before you mobilize yr family. At least you can get used to the place here, find a proper accomodation before they come . How about schools ? Have you found one yet ? PM me if you hv any other info.

Yes you need your RP first before your family can come.
