Is it Child Abuse?
Couldn't help put post this after reading the comments below the article. :)
While other children might have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the barber’s chair on their first visit, Rean Carter can hardly wait.
The five-year-old has never had his hair cut, and his golden locks tumble past his waist.
But after being mistaken for a girl, he is demanding a trip to the barber – and any tears on the day are more likely to come from his reluctant mother.

So is it child abuse?
Better let the boy wear girl's dress too.
His hair is gorgeous....if he was a wee girl! It's not abuse if he was happy to have it long. It becomes abuse if the mum didn't cut it when her son wanted it to be. beautiful wee boy.
but MM, even now u r havin a bowl cut with the curls at the end (ur dp pic ) and blonde too...:)
I find braiding and taming unruly tangles of hair a very tiresome chore myself. I'd think any mother with a son would be grateful not to have to go through such efforts but funnily this poor boy's mom seems to love it!
Awwwweee.... he is so cute :) I love his locks, oh well, time to cut his hair as it is already affecting the kids social life (as he couldn't play with other kids teasing him).
Maybe when he grows up and become a man, he'll grow his hair back and find it sexy or manly to have it... (oh well, depends on the eye of the beholder of course)
Fatimah I had a bowl cut that came to my chin. My grandfather used to do it. My mother never wanted to bother with braiding it or curling it or any nonsense like that!
He must have parents like mine. My dad insisted we, my sisters and I, always had short as a boy's haircuts when we were kids. man,the humiliation of it all. I was a tomboy, yes, and kinda loved been mistook to be a boy(one of my grand daddy's friends once said, brightly,"what a handsome grandson you have"..lol) but my sisters hated it so much that we had to wear our hair that way. The funny thing is now I find myself insisting my daughter have her hair at least shoulder length where-see she wants it longer... talk about being a chip off the old block, eh?
You don't think you'd look good as a blonde Risks :P
Indeed a good deed tat he is donating tat amount to charity.
I wish i was in UK i would have bought tat wig for myself and colored it Black....:)
I think it's not an abuse, for me.
He had to wear it tied back Rizks. It's wonderful that he's donating it all to charity. Some little girl or boy will have a lovely wig.
Watta cute boy !
i wonder how the school allows kids with so long hairs ?
