UAE Women Loosing Hairs !

Rizks
By Rizks

This song struck my mind at once by Michael Jackson " You are Not Alone"....:)

A new survey has revealed that an astonishing 67 per cent of women in the UAE are currently experiencing some form of hair loss.

This surprising finding comes from a small survey of just one hundred Dubai and Abu Dhabi-based women between the ages of 25 and 60. The women surveyed were both Emirate and ex-pat.

Hair loss was easily the number one beauty problem for the women surveyed. Other major concerns included weight gain (45 per cent of those surveyed), dark circles (31 per cent), eye wrinkles (28 per cent) and ageing generally (26 percent).

Mike Ryan, Consultant Trichologist, Hair SPA Dubai, has argued nutrition is an essential factor. "The hair is a great barometer and indicator of general health,” he said.

“Hair loss is a much more widespread problem for women of all ages than anyone realises and there are several factors that can cause it. But nutrition is of vital importance. Hair cells are among the fastest growing in the body, so they need good nutrition," Ryan added.

No, the water cooler water is distilled water not mineral water normally. that is what I have been told.

As I said, I just notice that my hair falls out here but when I am back in the UK for any length of time it ceases to do that. Cause and effect.

in rinsing the hair?

By jjj75• 7 Mar 2012 13:43
jjj75

Flor, the best thing that you can do is to rinse your hair with the water you get from the water coolers (this is the cheapest way). It has most of the chemicals removed so will help.

BE - don't use any hair dye or other styling products - it is the water

It's all to do with beauty products and hair dyes being over used.

Go back to the old days and just use LifeBouy

By damselindistress• 7 Mar 2012 12:39

A thread very close to your heart Rizks (?) :P just kidding... :*

But they also says that hair fall/loss is also a sign of stress.

By jjj75• 7 Mar 2012 12:38
jjj75

to do with the water - hair dresser told me that the water here is very harsh on the hair. The chemicals that they put in it to treat it will bond themselves to the root of your hair, causing hair to fall out and potentially baldness (because the nerve/root has died).

I have to say, personally, I notice alot of hair falling out in the shower, yet when I am at home for any length of time, this hair loss slows down/stops, so it would seem this is most probably the case.
