I remember when I was working at the SAS Radisson Hotel in Cairo there was a system, running in the staff area, that used solar thermal collectors to heat up and purify the water supply.

We produced something like 60 litres per day, for pure drinking water - better than mineral water. But it wasn't RO. It was more complicated than that, a very new technology I think. The company was called WaterStillar Egypt. Not sure if WaterStillar has a presence here in Qatar.

They could be open to new partnerships locally, who knows. But I'm sure this is a great business opportunity. RO just doesn't cut it. Qatar could have big problems in coming years if we don't put together a comprehensive strategy on water provision. At the moment we have inadequate low-level solutions, then the mega-expensive desalination plants, which are only one piece in the jigsaw.

Yes, there are so many people using those RO systems, I am using it from the past 5 months and it taste good as well, we use it for cooking and drinking,

once in a 6 months 3 filters need to change which costs QR 100 all together.
