Vodafone: What a disappointment!!!!

I am writing to let you know of how dissapointed i am with Vodafone.
I experienced this last year and has been out of Doha and now since i am here, i would like you to know.I was experiencing some technical problems with my Iphone 3GS that i purchased in Carrefour,Villagio, as i accidentally dropped it and i couldnt put in on again.

I went to City center mall to the Apple center and was told that Vodafone downstairs handles Iphone technicalities. I went there and spoke to an agent who sent me to your service center close to Jaidah flyover..in Nasrallah Commercial Center. I managed to go there as well and stated the problem to one of the technicians. He asked me to come back the following day as he needed time to check the phone. Upon return, he declared that my phone was completely destroyed and that if i wanted i could pay QAR999 and they would switch the phone and give me a brand new phone. As this was the only option i had, i payed him and he exchanged the phone to a "new" phone that was pulled out of an unusual iphone case, that was blank not the typical iphone face cover. It seemed used. I asked him again and he declared that the phone was totally new. He said i only had 3 months warranty after which i couldnt blame anyone for anything. I took my phone home and as i wanted to re-update my data, i couldnt. The phone was blank. I went back to the guy and explained to him the situation this time round he was rather rude that i came back complaining. I asked him again about the phone being new and it offended him and he raised his voice on me, further to which i made it clear to him that i would file a major complaint and since i had paid some money on this and he gave me a phone that was not even new as promised, i was not going to be silent on this.

Later on, an Iphone technician discovered that the phone was already jailbroken before, giving proof that if really it was new, then why was it jailbroken? and all this was an act of dishonesty and he made it work in a way, but now, the speakers are faulty and although i can use it, i thought this was a very mischevious way to get money by taking advantage of a customer.

I am a Vodafone customer and previously used a blackberry bought in Vodafone, and despite having a QTEL line before, i switched it to you vodafone, and yet this is the kind of treatment i get from them. Given that Vodafone is a big company, such dealings are unexpected and shouldnt be tolerated. I sent them an email to complain...until then, please do not fall into such acts of deceipt and dishonest gain!!!!!!

I was one of the customer who took same as my Qtel number with vodafone just first digit different rest as my qtel, made all my correspondence, business cards with both numbers.

I went for vacation had left my vodafone sim card back home, got it after 6 months, i used for 3 days, even recharged the phone , after recharging it got disconected, checked with horrible customer care, they said since not used for a long, it is deactivated,i requested since it is not alloted to any one, i am ready to pay the amount please re issue with same number, sent number of mails, no proper response, still it is not sold to any one, even now I am ready to take that number but vodafone people act very strange and not professional, not customer oriented.

You are Right the service from some of the service providers is HORRIBLE. I feel many seem to buy any new PHONE that comes to the market, no matter what features it has or if at all you use them. I find so many using t expensive phone to show their STATUS and impress similar people around. Please realise the real use of a phone and buy one that meets your requirement and avoid being taken for a RIDE

First, fail for buying a made in china phone.

Shouldve got a made in Finland, indestructible nokia.

well no need for the technician. just open cydia and on the home screen of cydia if you have ur shsh blobs saved(bottom or top of the screen) then for sure it was jailbroken(used)

there are more ways to find out but i think this would be the easiest way.

also if your iphone is updated to 5.x/5.0.1 then its used

If you had doubts on the phone being not new why would you buy. Why not go to Apple retailer?

Its the individual who conned you.

ok if this is what i m thinking-ur phone was blank ie- when u tried starting it u only saw a black screen on the phone and no apple logo then ur phone was in DFU mode(a status of iphone which is used for jailbreaking)

and if you have a solid proof like the technician said it was jailbroken then u can file a complain for fruad.cause jailbroken means its used

A free advice. b4 buying an iphone/smartphone know what u r buying,it's UI should meet your needs. don't buy a phone because its trending when u don't even know the A,B,C about the phone.if i were you i would have thoroughly investigated the phone(not by just looking at it).come on man u paying 2k-3k for a phone and you just take his word and walk away,no- no way.

the guy who handed you that phone sure didn't know a lotta things about the iphone.beside he must have handed u a used phone which he must have bought from a friend or something(as it was jail-broken)

lets not blindly rely on someone else belief/experience

know what you r getting when u are paying sucha lotta moeny for something
