I may be taking a job in Qatar with one of the schools. Where do you go when you land hotel initially or directly to housing? Also are there much activities to do for an 9 year old boy?

Mandilulur I sent you a PM.

Great it's good to know he will have lots of friends. He is quite the social butterfly and I would hate to have him there lonely.

And his school will have lots of activities for kids and if you're in Ed City housing he'll have lots of friends. What university are you coming to work for?

Ed City should have your housing all set up for you when you arrive. Ours had food in the fridge, even.

Sorry, I have no pictures, but I have seen education City housing, and it is quite nice. I do not think you will have anything to worry about.

And yes, blankets etc. are available here.

You can go to this website www.expatwoman.com

There you may find people who actually live in Education City and will be able to give you more info!

Good luck.

Hello, and thank you for your replies. I am still in the process so I don't have all of the particulars yet, but I was told I would be housed in Education City. I looked on the internet and didn't see the accommodations there just maps. Is there a place where I can see the actual apartments that are rented? Also I was told to bring extra sheets and a blanket... Can these items be purchased there or should I bring my own?

Thank you for your replies.

Your employer should inform you of the procedure.Best to ask them.

And no, I'd say not really much to do for a 9 year old.

But once he is in school, he should be fine.
