Can I sponsor my daughter as a 'single' mum in Doha?
I am 'single' mum teaching in Doha. My husband is back in England and will not be joining me here. He has a good job and has no desire to give it up and relocate to Doha. We are both happy with this arrangement. I am being sponsored by my employer and I have to sponsor my 11 year old daughter. However, I have heard that as a 'single' mum I may not be able to do this. Is this correct? Can someone please shed some light on this. I don't think there's any point contacting my HR Dept. as they seem to be just as confused on these matters.
Thanks for all your responses. Very helpful
I think their main concern is that you don't bring a daughter INTO this world, in Qatar, without some form of Carbon-based husband.
You may also need a letter of permission from your husband (the child's father) giving his permission for you to have "custody" of the child. Can you check with the Qatari Embassy in the UK? It would probably have to be attested/authenticated at the Embassy too.
hey logey , i think the papers required to sponsor her is
birth certificate of ur daughter , marriage certificate and ur passport

As long as your salary is 10k and above and your sponsor willing to give you an NOC to bring your daughter here you wouldn't have any problems..
