i moved two years ago, and my advice : stay in Dubai. Qatar is developing but at a much slower pace than UAE. It will take another 4-5 years before Doha moves to become city. Currently, Doha is still a large village compared to Dubai. Traffic is bad with numerous roundabouts, streets are crowded with grazy drivers. Remember once in Doham it is very difficult to change jobs and last but not least your employer needs to issue an exit permit before you can leave the country (even for a long weekend for private purposes)......
I can show you atleast 25 families who shifted to Doha in these last three years..:-)
There is no reason to complain in the current situation, world wide..Consider yourself blessed if there is enough to feed your family...One of the best countries to be in, right now..
in short words, besides petrol, everything else is more expensive here in Doha (mobile, cars, restaurants, schools, etc...) not to mention that my wife hates it :)
