Only those expatriates who earn a minimum salary of
QR10,000 monthly would now be eligible to obtain a family
visa, it is learnt. The special panel at the
Ministry of Interior that decides on family visa applications from expatriates has raised the salary
criterion from QR8,000 to QR10,000, Al Sharq reported
yesterday.
It had been raised from QR7,000 to QR8,000 some time
ago.

honestly speaking.. this is a good opinion.. that will be surely transform Qatar to a land of bachelors. Next opinion will be demands like asking the bachelors to shift to remote residence areas like Al khor or Industrial Area... so that the City area is almost free to demolish or do crazy stuffs...On the other side.. Local Qatar populations are allergic to bachelors. i am expecting more decisions and opinions of these kinds.... But one thing i am happy is that someone is accepting the expense in Qatar is getting high. and this fact was not recently accepted by government here. Folks,,, more exciting news are yet to come. Decision and opinion of very well experienced officers like these will surely help Qatar to put a place in the world Map..... What more to tell,,,, i am really excited..... bravos.....

The information gathered from local news paper yesterday was only an opinion by the writer/publisher of the said local newspaper and it's not from any Local Government of Qatar. Saying that for a family be able to live here decently should have atleast a salary of 10K QR base on the opinion only of the WRITER.

So we are misleading by others by giving WRONG INTERPOLATION or MISINFORMATION of the said news yesterday.

It's always better to ask your PRO, check online or ask directly to concern ministry.

Don't get easily be lead by only humors and unreliable persons. Some people may have hatred only.

its for the total since they will be checking your bank statement for the last 6 month in addition to your NOC letter and making sure from that your salary is being transferred from your sponsor. you company is supposed to give the NOC with total amount transferred to your bank and not a break down on allowances

Don't think it effects renewals. Only new applications in trouble.

some of my staff just about reach 9.5K on their basic, but then their fixed allowances add up to another 9K.

They have a decent std of living and a good life. I wonder what happens to their families who have been here for over 5 years now and well settled? :-(
