I was told that when you are outside Doha for more than 6 months the immigration will automatically cancel your (RP) visa. How true is this?

..you may comeback under your husbands sponsorship after your visa has been cancelled. You have to ask your husband to check it with the immigration office to confirm this information. Good luck!
I cannot get a hold of my sponsor (company) hence i cannot apply for an extension. Will I be able to apply for a family visa after my visa is cancelled? I am not intending to work because my husband is there and is able to sponsor me.
After 6 months outside the country RP/Visa is automatically cancelled.
Do as commented previously approach an Immigration office, provide enough support to justify the extension and then ask for approval from authorities.
