Review: Doha Park - Rides & Games [Pictures]

Just wanted to share a couple of pictues of Doha Park with all you QLers. Most of the rides cost either QR15 or QR25 (there is a heated discussion on the pricing going on here). What was really strange was that insisted that parents pay when they accompanied little kids. That is unheard of in Doha - normally if an adult holds a smaller child on a ride, only the child gets charged. But the Italians who man the rides were insistent on this even though I saw many parents protesting.

The place wasn't as packed as I thought it would be (which was nice) - we didn't have to wait to get into any of the rides. Worth a visit just for a change of scenery in Doha and to do something outdoors but expect to shell out at least QR100 per.

/at/Ahmed.qatar/-This is the most worst way of approach of Qatar which makes Qatar good for nothing. They believe that they are best in all that's why people are keeping on coming. But the only thing Qatar have is its blessed with OIL. Its Just Like a Tadpole in a well, The Tadpole thinks that its the best and beautifulest world as he never seen the world outside but for the world outside it is the worst place to be in still for water they have to approach a well.

On another note:

Egypt has begun mass deporation of Eritrean and Somali refugees Today.

This act by the Egyptains sorely undermines one of UNHCT's oldest RSD operations!

STOP ALL FORCED DEPORTATIONS NOW!

This is a very urgent humanitarian matter! The desperate Refugees have no homes or life to go back to and the majority are defactors and former prisoners of conscious.

if Deported back to the Dictatorship State of Eritrea, Eritrean Refugees are most likely to be imprisoned tortured and maybe even executed as records with the UN shows the same happened to other Refugees who were deported back to Eritrea from Italy.

I call upon your human conscious to take action right now!

Please write / call to the Egyptain Embassy right now and express your concerns.

They've announced through their twitter account today a 50% reduction in their prices , also they've cancelled the parking fee.

Overall, from what it seems the event is poorly organized with very low standard of safety and not " world class" as been promoted in local newspapers !!!

@ahmed- just to remind you that this is a public forum, if anyone wants to voice out his/her opinion, they are free to do so.

The park looks boring (for adults) but that park is something that kids can appreciate.

But personally, i wont even give it a try.

I was there too ...it’s really boring and there were no much crowd as expected. Ticket counter  filled with some ill-mannered people and prices were ridiculous for almost all the rides.

They are selling 5 Riyal tickets but i don’t know which ride we could use for 5 riyal as all rides starting with 15 riyal minimum. Over all It was third class entertainment but it’s really pricy for nothing.

My verdict : 2 out of 10

@ruby- what's lacking in this amusement park? I guess it's how to "amuse" its patrons or customers, i think thats where Doha Park missed.

First-TFS for sharing, well, based on the pictures that you posted, i am quite disappointed:( it doesnt look of what you will expect for a rich country. Or probably because i had has experienced other amusement park such as disneyland and ocean park in HK and i can tell that our own amusement park back home is way better than this (note that we are a 3rd world country so to speak)

the cost of the rides are a bit high, not too many rides, parking fee is not free and weather is a bit hot., but to credit,we all know that this park is made for the entertainment of the children not the adults and i know kids arent choosy and doesnt expect too much, as long as they will be having fun they'll go for it. Kudos to at least trying to give some effort to entertain the children.

My verdict:

8 out of 10 for the effort to entertain the children.

5 0ut of 10 overall rate.

Well i took my kids there and they were asking for 50QR for theparking fee next to the entrance, what a rip-off!!!! We proposed to build state of the art entertainement and edutainment, but i guess these people are just interested in profit not quality, which scares me a bit when i see the quality of some rides...Honestly they cannot compete in tourism with any other country as lots of things are missing...still seeking good investors who are really interested in building top class edutainement!

Doesn't look much of an attraction to me but I guess still worth the visit. If I will base my opinion from the photos, its not much differenct from the amusement park within  Doha Zoo. Still needs a lot of improvement to be called amazing but as I've said before, still worth the visit.

Looks like the same Death Trap that they sponsor by the Doha Zoo. I would not put my child in it unless they were bad kids. If the parents feel that the park is unsafe for the child to ride by themselves it probably is. If they feel that they are needed to keep there child safe on the ride they should probably not let them ride it. Dont worry though the 15QR they save on the unsafe ride will be well saved when they drive home with no car seat or seat belt for the child.
