Exactly..

Detention centres must go, says NHRC
DOHA: Qatar’s National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) has criticised deportation detention centres and said they must be removed since they reflect negatively on the country’s concern for human rights.
The NHRC said in its report for 2010 that foreign workers being repatriated by their sponsors home must be given the right to challenge these decisions in the court.
A person must have the right to challenge the decision of his sponsor to repatriate him home, the rights body has said.
There are cases that some people want to change their sponsorship but instead of accepting their request, their sponsors send their papers to the authorities concerned urging them to send them packing off home.
“This is wrong and the system must change,” the NHRC has said. There are people who are detained at the deportation centers for long periods of time for no rhyme or reason.
Then, there are those who are detained for repatriation for long although the court has ordered their repatriation, the rights body said.
The NHRC said it is in favour of quick repatriation of people who are to be sent home. They must not be made to wait for long since that amounts to suppressing their freedom.
If at all, there should be ‘respectable’ shelters where those being repatriated should be kept for brief periods and then sent home, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
The NHRC report said that its officials visit the deportation centers as well as the central prison and police lock-ups periodically and have discovered some abuse.
A woman was assaulted by security officials at the deportation center and the incident is being investigated by the authorities.
Some people are kept at the lock-ups of the Capital Police without being referred to the Public Prosecution, the NHRC said in its report.
On another note:
Egypt has begun mass deporation of Eritrean and Somali refugees Today.
This act by the Egyptains sorely undermines one of UNHCT's oldest RSD operations!
STOP ALL FORCED DEPORTATIONS NOW!
This is a very urgent humanitarian matter! The desperate Refugees have no homes or life to go back to and the majority are defactors and former prisoners of conscious.
if Deported back to the Dictatorship State of Eritrea, Eritrean Refugees are most likely to be imprisoned tortured and maybe even executed as records with the UN shows the same happened to other Refugees who were deported back to Eritrea from Italy.
I call upon your human conscious to take action right now!
Please write / call to the Egyptain Embassy right now and express your concerns.
