Advise Buying a New or Used Car
Hello Everyone,
I am new in Qatar and need to buy a car for myself. I am saving some money and thinking of buying a car in next couple of months. I need to know should i buy a brand new car or an old one. I know new one will be expensive and for the old one i am not sure whether it will be reliable in the sense that i may endup in spending too much amount of money on mechanical work on the long run.
I am thinking of Buying a Sedan or may be an old 4WD. I am not sure whether i will be able to get a Car Loan on couple of months bank statement and whether it will be benefitial to put some money as deposit. Secondly i dont know what will be by monthly installments
I may use my car to drive to UAE as well
Can someone please guide me through and advise me what will be the best option for me.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks everyone for your help and guiding me through. I have made up my mind and thinking of going for 4WD Toyota Prado or Nissan Pathfinder or Chevorlet Trailblazer or Mitsubishi Outlander. The price range which i have checked from different websites i have found that a good 2007 model ranges between 50,000 to 80,000 with kilometers around 75000.
Now my question is from everyone that If i go for Personal loan and put around 20,000 as deposit and the rest as Personal loan, do anyone know what will be the intrest rate from the banks like QNB or any other bank in Doha and how many salaries i need to put into the account before getting the loan
Secondly if i go for the car loan what will be the intrest rate if i put 20,000 as deposit and rest on loan and how many salaries i need to put into account before getting the loan and will i be able to drive to UAE if i have got a car loan for on my car.
Please advise and help me in finalizing my decision.
Thanks for all your help

early settlement charges are 1% of the remaining amount, and if it is a personal loan then the car will definitely be in your name (coz the bank gave you a loan to do what ever you want to do)
What if i took a personal loan from a bank for 15000 Riyals and buy the car by putting some money from my pocket and pay back that loan in 3 months. Do i have pay any exit fees to pay the loan early, secondly will the car be on my name of banks name
Please advise
Check

and then search for cars with warranty.
all the best
Thanks everyone for your replies, and guiding me through. I am now thinking of buying Company certified cars. Will they going to be a good option to go for. I looked at Domasco website and they do got really good cars. I am thinking of buying Honda Civic or Toyota Corollo or Nissa Tida, or any 4WD that i can buy for 50,000. Any companies website one can suggest for certified cars
Banks will not give Loan for more than 2 years used cars. Just check with the bank.
SUV are too skeptical in Qatar specially old ones.It all comes down to you.If you want used car.You can get good car from pre-owned section of cars companies.
Hope it will help you
that is depend on how much is your budget for the car , i mean how much cash on your hand and not banking loan ?
new car always prefered cuz you are the first one ride the car and you have the street gurantee and include in company services and you have the right to claim in case of there was manufucturing misakes or problems but in the same time you are loosing 10 or 20 thousands since you receive the key and open the car on the car value cause it named as used car .
used car is prefered if your budget not that much good , and you have experinced one with you to guide you to buy it , here in ql there are much posts of car for sale , also you can buy from show rooms or from industrial area .. prefered not to buy car used more than 150 ,000 km because the problem will be showed on that kind of cars .. and good luck in your purchase .. notice car here more expensive than UAE . if you can buy your car from there and drive it or ship it to here is better same like my driving b4 :)
Depends on you contract , if longer go for new one
and don't buy too old models then you get headaches for repairing every now and then ...
