Hello Everyone,

I will be arriving in Qatar probably next month and will be bringing some required medicines for my Flu and Fever, and few medicines of my son as my family will arrive after me once they will get there family visa. My family will also bring some required medicines with them.

I need to know is there normally an issue if someone bring medicines.

Please advise

sorry 2012 but I have to disagree, I have been prescribed meds here in Doha, but can't buy them because of issues with import and MoH not because they are banned - but the OP can certainly ask here if the meds the family needs are available here (either by prescription or OTC) and go from there.

Why not buy any medicines in Qatar and save yourself the trouble?  The health care here is superior to any country.

I would be careful of anything with codeine in it - it's considered a narcotic

here's a list of what need to have a prescription or are outright banned in UAE (sorry don't have one for Qatar maybe someone else can help) - it can at least give you an idea if the medicines you use may be iffy

- Many common cold and cough remedies, which you might assume to be harmless, must be accompanied by a prescription. Many of these drugs are available over-the-counter (OTC) in other countries.- Some sleeping tablets, painkillers, anti-depressants and hormone replacement therapy drugs are banned here.

Alternatively, give the names of the medicines here and someone may be able to tell you if it requires a prescription here or if it is even available/allowed

It's ok to bring meds here..I have few friends who are bringing meds from our home country. Nobody asked for prescriptions but just bring it with you just in case they'll ask.
