BASIS OF LENGTH OF SERVICE

Hi, I wish to seek legal advice regarding basis of length of service.

Our HR Manager tells us that the basis/start of computation of one's length of service is 01 Jan 2005, the date when the Qatar Labour Law was instituted. This meant that for those hired before this date, their service before 01 Jan 2005 will not be counted such as in the computation of service benefits.

Looking forward to be clarified on this matter.
