Qatar traffic rules applicable to all??

I certainly dont think so.

Latest Update:

I had a Qatari cut into my lane and when i honked him, the old guy at the steering wheel just gave me d Finger. Next moment, he stopped his vehicle with the intention of letting me ram into his car.

For God's sake, Grow up old guy. For starters, it is Ramadan. Shouldn't he be nice and good ?? Second, he ought to learn the traffic rules.

I wanted to confront him. So put on the double indicators and started to step out and Vrrrooommmm....He takes off...

Seriously, i feel the radars aint what the traffic police should be focussing on. but instead should focus on the way people drive around here.

Location: Trom Toyota tower towards Family Food Centre signal.

Absolutely bonkers.

& TO THINK: I HAD 3 INCIDENTS SUCH AS THE ABOVE HAPPEN IN THE PAST HALF AN HOUR !!!

Amazing.I post about reckless driving and I get termed as a pussy, get challenged to a driving competition, get almost chucked out of the country...LOL !!!The thread ain't about from which country I come from. It is all about endangering other's lives. It certainly aint a joke.If my family had been with me, there would have been, for sure, a few injuries. If that was the case, for sure, I would have whooped the crap out of the guy, regardless of the guy being young or old.A mistake is a mistake. Mazen 2, no offense meant mate, but in my country We treat visitors/expatriates with respect. We certainly dont scare the sweet living life outa the person. We honor our guests and give them the extra care treatment. Like i said, no offense. It is not about how recklessly/rash we can drive but about how safe we can be when we drive. Nothing great about reckless driving. How would you feel if you had your family, your kids with you and then wind up in a minor accident ???

drive defensively, most drivers in qatar are driving offensively regardless of nationality that makes the road a race track. it's like doing unto others what other's do unto you. if some one cut you, overtake and cut him too. that's the reality and a way of life on the road here. may be because the weather is hot making every one's head hot too...

the best thing to do is smile and make your day happy. expect that most people on the road want to show their dominance over you. let them do it and just do the right thing. pray for them cause they usually dont grow long. they die young or ussually driving a wheel chair soon. lol

the biggest danger are south asians. very unpredictable, with bad road etiquette.the qatari's, as long as u stay out of their way, are fine ;)

I know why he cut into your lane.... because you were going 40 on a raod where speed limit is 100. You should be glad he was an old guy. I suggest you dont try that with a young Qatari.

I can understand your situation... But the best thing to do is ignore it... Not everyone is bad and not every one is good...

Wish you a very happy and pleasent ramadan...

Speedmarks, I have no problems with Ramadan driving. The roads are mostly empty when I'm out.

Baldrick, drive carefullly during Ramadan month. I dont go out and drive past lunch time and until Iftar is served. Drivers tend to be crazy during this period. Maybe bacause their stomachs are grumbling loudly. They dont care who's who on the road. Trust me, hallucinations are frequent on an empty stomach during this time.

"it is Ramadan. Shouldn't he be nice and good ??"I hate that catch phrase people use these days. People are people, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
