One friend of mine is working in a local company here located at Doha as a office Secretary since past 1 year. Her husband also works in the same company. But currently her husband has gone to his home country due to some urgent work for 2 weeks. The company has provided car to her husband, in absence of her husband, my friend is using the same car to go and come to the work since she has a driving license. Meantime, the boss (local Qatari) hired a new office staff. Since the new male staff joined the duty (from the first day) the boss asked my friend to give the service of pick up and drop him 4 times a day (8 am – 12pm and 4pm – 8pm), which is 1 hour driving distance to go and come back for her, total she has to spend 2 hours daily for transport service to him without extra or overtime pay. My friend refused to do it, as soon as she refused her boss shouted at her and also threatened that he will cancel her visa send her back home. He forced her and still forcing her to do the same. Now my question is, is it fair that her boss forced her to give the transport service to the male staff? And also is this legal that a lady can be a company driver to pick up and drop office staffs? In such situation what she has to do or how she has to react as she doesn’t want to pick up and drop him anymore.

is it fair that her boss forced her to give the transport service to the male staff? - No. But who cares ???

And also is this legal that a lady can be a company driver to pick up and drop office staffs? - Its not legal. still who cares.

In such situation what she has to do or how she has to react as she doesn’t want to pick up and drop him anymore - Why doesnt she just hand over the car back to the company. Her husband and the management can later decide if they should give the car to him.
