Permanent visa

Hi QLers,

I am in Qatar for more than 5 years under my husband's sponsorship. His visa was cancelled so automatically, so thus mine and we are being kicked out of the country. My company wants to keep me so we applied for transfer of sponsorship, however, it was not approved in the CEID. My company told me that they will apply for a permanent visa for me after I leave the country. Now, my question is, how long does it take from the time my company will apply for a permanent visa for me so I can return to Qatar? Any good comments will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

It is a semi government...I am also afraid that it might be rejected again so me and my husband are thinking of just going with him to Saudi as his company offered to transfer him there but i am not sure I want to go to Saudi.

It really depends on the company, if it is a semi government, then they might require you but if it is private, they might not. If you have the time, just be prepared and get one to be on the safe side.

Thank you for that Pidz1221. Really appreciate it. Another question, hope you don't mind, will I still be needing a CEID approval when I get back? I asked because I have submitted to them the original newly red ribboned NBI, if so, I might have to obtain a new one.

Hi there. I beleive that from the time your passport was stamped at the immigration in the airport before your flight, your company can start the application process of your permanent visa. It will just depend on the Immigration Officer on how long the process takes, it could be within 3 days or maximum within the week.

Best of luck to you and your family.
