I need a good home for my puppy :(
Hi all,
A few months ago I rescued a Suluki mix from Souq Waqif (I know I shouldn't have, but I just fell in love with this particular dog and couldn't leave him there). I live near Al Shahaniyah, and do not have a garden. He stays in the apartment most of the day, which is fine in most cases, but recently I have been hit with a very large work load and it doesn't look like it will be letting up anytime soon. Therefore, he ends up staying in the kitchen for most of the day with his toys, bones, etc. and only gets let out at lunchtime (which luckily is 4 hours) and sometimes in the afternoon if I don't go to town. I just feel terrible having him in this situation, and although I hate to part with him, it would be so much better for his welfare if he had someone with A) a garden, or B) more time to spend with him.
Scottie is a blonde and white Suluki mix, about 6 months old, loves children, cats, and other dogs. Very sweet and loving, only barks when he is playing or gets scared. He is mostly potty trained, but still needs some work on holding it when he has to be inside for too long. He knows his name, sit, down, up, and come.
If you can give Scottie a good home, or would like to come see him, please let me know. He will be free to a good home and come with his bowls, food and treats, leash, collar, all toys, brush, and nail clippers.
The picture below is NOT Scottie, but looks a lot like him. I don't have a recent pic.
Thanks!
QAWS is what ur lookin for!
Oh ok Xena, I misunderstood, sorry!
I have a few leads on a home for Scottie, so wish me luck! And yes El Capitano, we are not open to the public so sadly you cannot come visit...but it is a very nice preserve with some really endangered animals (:
Hope you find your dog soon!
wow! i didn't know this kind of preservation existed in Qatar! there are some very rare animals there!
no i did not find Beau :( i didn't get your message! can you send it again please?
i had a couple of leads but it was all a dead end...
thank you for asking :)
to El Capitano - he adopted one of the dogs at QAWS and then the boy managed to get away from him... I was answering his question about wild life preservations:-)
Xena...he wasn't ever lost. Thanks though haha.
And yes, I work at Al Wabra.
I still haven't found a good home for Scottie. He's now been neutered and has calmed down a bit so that's nice. But he really needs a home soon.
Let me know if you find anyone interested!
has your boy ever turned up? I sent you a message a while ago regarding someone who had seen him.
Yes, there is a wild-life preseveration here - its a private facility though.
Here is the link.

Hi,
Good luck for your dog, I hope he finds a home soon.
I'm just curious, there are wild animal reserves in Qatar??
So just an update...Scottie is scheduled to be neutered on Monday. So he will now be fixed, and have all his vaccines. I really need to find a home for him soon, so if anyone knows a good family looking for a great-natured dog that just needs someone to pay attention to him, let me know and thanks in advance!
I posted him on QAWS, thanks (:
You can post his details on the QAWS facebook page :)
Thanks for the help. Scottie is not neutered, but I can have it done very easily. I work on a wildlife preserve and have 4 vets at my disposal for whatever he needs. He is just now getting old enough for the procedure, and so I will probably schedule it soon.
Can you please send me some pictures of Scottie?I do have a 1 year old shitzu ( female )..My e-mail add : [email protected]
Have you had Scottie neutered/spayed? the gov clinic will do it for free. The rate of dumped animals is saddening. Bless you. I found a cat yesterday all scared at Aspire. May have been dumped too.
Send an email to QAWS and Dogs in Doha - they have FB pages and website. Send scottie's photo and details so he can be put on the adoption list.
I have already contacted them. Don't worry, I am not that kind of person. I won't just give him to anyone. If anyone is interested, I will visit the home, and they will visit him. I will make it very serious. I refuse to have Scottie dumped somewhere. Otherwise, he will live with staying in the kitchen here.
please dont advertise him on here, 99.9% of the people who will take him will dump him on the street within a week. call Qaws and Dogs in Doha, their rehoming rates are amazing.
