Disturbing news from Bahrain

'The intimidation and detention of doctors treating dying and injured pro-democracy protesters in Bahrain is revealed today in a series of chilling emails obtained by The Independent.'

Here is the rest of the article:

Whilst the article is based on a series of emails, there is surely some truth to the matter.

Does the Red Cresent need to be sent into Bahrain to ensure the upholding of the Geneva Convention?

Bahrain seems to have slipped off the radar somewhat due to the Libyan conflict.

and what do they say here:

and have reported on here:

The light of real journalism does tend to confront one with things one does not want to hear.

But if your response is to stick your fingers in your ears and say loudly "La, la ,la - I can't hear you" then so be it.

Have a good day

Bahrain is still in the "papers", but has slipped off the TV because it offers no value to our leaders. How many actually read the papers now ?

Most just take the TV as gospel :o(

Mubarak name to be removed from public places (AFP)

21 April 2011, 2:59 PMA Cairo court on Thursday ruled that the name of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, and that of his wife, be removed from all public places, the official MENA agency reported.

Judge Mohammed Hassan Omar said the names of Hosni Mubarak and his wife Suzanne would be removed from “public squares, streets, libraries and other public institutions around the country.”

The former strongman is under arrest in a hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh, being questioned over his alleged role in violence against protesters during the popular uprising.

His two sons, Alaa and Gamal, are also in prison pending investigations into the violence during the protests that erupted on January 25.
