Re banking , credit cards, debit cards

I am new to Doha. My husband arrived a few months before me. So far we continue to use our Canadian credit cards, debit cards and the bank at home that we have always used. Can somebody let me know if this is the best way to do things or should we have all of the aforementioned here in Doha?? Thank you.
Dear, some people prefer to use their country's credit/debit cards since it is more comfortable to them.
One thing to look at is fees for using the cards abroad. If the fees are "not a big deal" then continue as is....otherwise consider opening an account locally and give it a try.
