The Four have now committed to removing Gaddafi. So far, the military matchup is at stalemate. So, other than sending in troops, this is the best option at present. Ofcourse that may change also..

The European Union is awaiting UN approval for deployment of around 1000 ground troops to the besieged rebel city of Misrata to assist relief effort

The force would be deployed to secure the delivery of aid supplies, would not be engaged in a combat role but would be authorised to fight if they or their humanitarian wards were threatened.

they will put a stop to the West's murderuos air raids

Ah yes I remember the WEST being right in the thick of the action when Afghanistan was being torn apart in civil war by a bunch of ISI backed Talibs who did nothing good but looted, slaughtered, and destroyed all infrastructure and expelled the intellectual community from Afghanistan

And of course the West was there helping as the Pakistan Army raped and tortured Bengali civilians on the blessing of the Jamiat Islami Party of Pakistan.

Surely the West actively involved when ISI was using Afghanistan as a training centre to attack India and to keep Afghanistan and especially the Pashtun regions under its tight control.

I somehow missed the united attack on Iraq by the Arab nations when Saddam Gassed 1000s of Kurds, where were these people when Shias/Sunnis started killing each other?

Yeah it's always the West.....one muslim has never attacked, and slaughtered without mercy, another muslim.

Silly me for being so blinkered all these years

but it seems that some Libyans want the west to kill more Libyans......

'Rebel leaders at the meeting in Doha say they want more air attacks and claim Nato is using "minimum" power and should escalate attacks on heavy weapons used by regime forces.'

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/uk-and-france-cajole-coalition-nations-to-join-air-raids-on-gaddafi-2267453.html

........evidently we aren't just killing enough of them!

What to do?

I am watching GADDAFI's interview on BBC right now...He looks damn fool and stupid when he claims it with high tone that PEOPLE OF LIBYA STILL LOVES HIM....

How pathetic!!!

By anonymous• 7 Mar 2011 12:50
anonymous

Gaddafi, specially in his recent destructive course has lost it with his people, he cannot claim love for the country and it's people in a bid to remain in power, not after destroying the national resources and it's people, He clearly is begging to be taken out, I wonder who will do the honors.....

By soniya• 7 Mar 2011 12:40

I wish GADDAFI to get some SENSE as soon as possible...He is lost somewhere..Hope he gains his conscience before its too late...

Our sincere help and support to people living in LIBYA...

the UN should sanction a no fly zone immediately and that will even the sides up and stop a lot of indiscriminate killings. Then you probably just have to leave it to the rebels.

If you send in ground troups they should be arab and muslim. No need for the west to spill any more blood the arabs should sort out their own problems.

By anonymous• 7 Mar 2011 11:10

When a leader starts killing and murdering his own people he loses all authority over this country and its people and outside forces need no permission or the UN to act unilaterally to stop this killings. Its Serbia happening all over again in Libya and a lot of innocent people will get killed before the world community really wakes up and takes any action to safeguard this helpless civilians

The situation there is really really bad... Lets all take a moment to thank God that we are not in that kind of a situation. I cannot think of anything worse than a country turning on its own people.... so so sad

Gaddafi has shown he will not go without a fight. What about helping the libyan people resist him?

By anonymous• 7 Mar 2011 10:26

The funny thing here is with all the killing and butchering going on out there by gadafffi, his sons and his evil forces the world community, arab league and its neighbours seem to be doing very little or nothing to support the libyan people. Must be the mindset of the other leaders around that if this gaddafi goes today then it will be the turn of someone else next and soon.
