Qatar Airways Salaries/Recruitment
Hi All,
Been looking through these forums, and they are really helpful.
Here's my questions.
I'm Australian and applied for a position about a year ago, and then out of the blue I receive a call saying that I have been shortlisted for a telephone interview.
The position is a Snr commercial position.
What is the process after a telephone interview?
Also, i'm on a pretty good salary here in Australia, just wondering what to expect as a comparison over there?
Any tips, hints, past experiences would be appreciated :)
I've been offered a Senior CSA post for HIA and the offer is VERY low. Accomodation is free but transport is not. They will only give 450qar for transpo which I know is just half or maybe 1/3 of the expense of transpo to the airport! I wanted to work for them so badly but the offer is just enough to LIVE in Doha, and save nothing and send nothing back home. Offer is 3,400qar

Am not looking at a HUGE savings...however, am looking at saving 3-4k QAR each month....do u feel thats possible?
I guess it all depends what your goals are. Are you wanting to save alot of cash, or are you just wanting to experience a new city/country.
Don't take my opinon as the be all and end all though!
I've spoken to a lot of people and done alot of reading about the move to Doha, and based on my research the cost of living there is quite high, which means you have to be earning quite a bit more than in your home country to make it worth it.
I'm not too sure what salaries in India are like, so I can't really advise you on that.. how does that compare to your salary at home once you've done the conversion?
Thanks so much Jayjay....I am from India...When you say that the salary is low, are you also considering the House Rent Allowance or just the base salary? If my accommodation is taken care of, is that still a paltry salary to consider?
Thanks a lot Jayjay..Coming from India, when you say that the salary is low, are you considering the House Rent allowance as well? Plus the Industry discounted fares for flying and such other facilities?
Potemkin, that salary seems a little low to me?
What country are you coming from?
Do you get more if you bargain well for it?
for a senior officer only QR 13,300. very less. ask for more.
Hello, can someone provide some thoughts on the above post of mine please?
hello, have been offered a position as a Senior Officer with Qatar Airways, with a salary of QAR 13,300/month + QAR 6000 as accomodation. The accommodation will be provided by the company and the amount of QAR 6000/month indicates what my max eligibility is, per month on the housing.
Is this a good package to survive in Doha with a savings potential of say, QAR 4000/month? I am married, but no children yet.
What would be the typical price of a car, say a Nissan Murano at Doha? I cant just resist this vehicle.
Am reading a lot of negative feedback over this forum on QA, what are the positives?
Comments welcome
what will be the salary and package for a grade 5 position at Qatar Airways
Thanks for the advice.
Based on what i've read, it seems pretty unlikely the salary would be more than what I currently get.
Who knows, will see what happens :)
Qatar Airways has a questionable employee retension reputation, which is a sgood as nonexistant, So if you are better paid in OZ then forget about chucking all that and getting your self in to a compay with the lest employee satisfaction. Pls refer all the previous posts on QL for further info.
a pretty good salary in OZ is better than doha mate.
the image that qatar projects internationally isn't, or doesn't always materialise in reality.
just ask for a sh!tload more money after taking tax and disposable income into consideration.
If the salary is 4 times more than what you are getting there, then decide to come, if not stay where you are.
