We reached there around 9.30ish I think and by then most of the food was pretty much over but from what we saw, there wasn't anything extra ordinary, I mean it was the same damn restaurants serving the same dishes for less price.

Surprising that how many hotels were offering classical junk food like French fries and hamburgers ,shawarma sandwiches at this so called Gourmet event! You had to hunt the real gourmet dishes .

There is no strict supervising at the entrance - a bachelor alone can get in without difficulties I think . The guards concentrate on large groups of single men .

Didnt find it that great, just the usual stuff at slightly lower prices. Tried some things from the higher end restaurants, not too good with small portion size

Who cares what they call it...as long as its cheap food :P

By britexpat• 23 Feb 2011 09:16

Why do they call it "Food Festival" ?

I went last year. It comprised mainly of local hoteliers and restaurants selling cheap versions of their products.
