By LoveLife11 •
Im from Spain and im moving to Qatar soon, I would like to know if its expensive to live there or its same as here, if house prices (to buy) are same as in Spain and I mean villas or something bigger not apartaments and wich areas are best , like the most classy to say it that way.And pls if someone can tell me the prices in euros not qatari money
Hi,
I'm Craig, MD of Mirage Properties, a well established real estate agent here in Qatar. We deal in property sales and leasing to both Expats and Qatari Nationals.
You are able to buy here as a non Qatari, but only in 18 specified areas, the 4 most popular of which are:
- 'The Pearl'
- Lagoon Plaza (known as Zig Zag Towers)
- West Bay Lagoon
- Lusail (still under construction)
The other 14 areas are, West Bay Business District (high rise apartments only) and many of the older central parts of Doha itself. If you are looking for a villa, the only places you will find something to buy are West Bay Lagoon and the older parts of Doha. You can buy villas on The Pearl but you need a very big budget, starting at around Euro 1 million. Elsewhere you could possibly find a small villa for around Euro 350,000 and upwards.
There is no real freehold property here, all purchases by expats are on a 99 year renewable leasehold basis, but property ownership does come with a residency permit.
I hope that helps, but if you require a little more info re what's available take a look on our website mirageproperty.com.
Kind regards
Craig at Mirage
You will find Qatar incredibly expensive compared to the Spanish market so only come if you have been offered a high paying job. Even in this depressed market the prices of apartments and villas, (where you can buy them) are incredibly high. You would probably need to budget 350,000 Euro for something decent but even then there is no legal protection for you as a Non_National
Lol LP you are going to turn 30 in a few years???? :-P
lovelife don't think about buying property here
Gone????
???? Why did you come here if you have good enough money....????
By the way, How old are you?????
I insist on what I said, daywalker. I cam here WITH money, not to make money. After some years I decided to MAKE some money.
You are too young brother.....But you will understand what I mean in the coming years when you come to ages 30.....
Maybe all of us plan to go back to homeland after we complete the match here.....
To live in homeland with good enough SAVE....
Correct, daywalker. A man should be able to make money anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wash.......sorry.....
I am not agree with you......Of course money is not EVERTHING....But without money living in a nice places is like having a beatiful car without driving license....
You can just wask your car, can't drive......
Hai Capito?????
Are you crazy? You leave Spain for Qatar? Heaven for hell? Come on. There is no Barcelona, no Picasso, no Dali. Only Spain has Cadaques and Sevilla. You are about to make the biggest mistake in your life!
Life is a little bit cheaper than Spain. I mean food, meals, etc.
If you want to live in compound(villa) you may need to pay upto 4000 Euro......You may also live in apartmants with less rent.
Going out and have a dinner for person is around 35 Euros.....
If you have valuable salary, it worth to come Qatar.....If not you better stay in Iberia....
Chears....
The only place so far is open for public is Pearl qatar .
and approximately 1 bed room appartment is more than 200.000 EUROS .
LoveLife11,
Never buy property here.
It’s an immature, uncertain market in a country where laws are unclear and can change with no warning at any given time.
You will always be a foreigner here, regardless if you buy a property or not.
Do some research and for now, take my advice.
You can research here in this website look for “the Pearl” or “Lusail” and see how disappointed and cheated those who invested here, are feeling.
Rents are OK. For a 2 bedroom apartment you have rents from 1000 Euros up to 3000 Euros / month or more depending on the quality and area.
For a couple of 2 with no kids, add another 1000 Euros for food and other expenses and around 500 Euros for car rental.
Expats can only buy in specific areas - you don't choose which. From what I've seen and heard, there are a lot of complaints out there from people who did buy.
As for pricing - we don't know what it costs to live in Spain - how can we compare?
