What are legal consequences if cheque bounce

I have given loan to a person and he has agreed to return the amount by post dated cheque on 3rd february, 2011. Now he is in Doha but not answering my calls, sometime he says he has money but he is not returning. I have a cheque from him. I suspect he don't have money to retun hence not answering my calls. Shall i go to bank and deposit the cheque to get money.

What will be consequences if cheque bounce and what action shall i follow. Beside cheque i have printed note where we both have signed and accepted that he will return the money by post dated cheque.

deposit the cheque. If there is no money in the account, it will bounce... go to the police station, they will take action.
