Dear forum members,

I am a registered nurse and music producer in same time ,from lebanon .
I recently had a job in a medical insurance auditing company near finance towers west bay doha , to work as a client gurantor or call center which are as a start for this job, since I havent got any experience in that domain yet ,but i speak many languages and have good communication skills and a nursing degree from american university.

So the question goes ,

the offered me a grose package 13,000 Qatari riyals for :

basic salary:2000$ usd
housing:1000$ usd
transportation: 500$

are these amount fair enough,

well im married but no children ,im thinking of getting my wife later on to live with me after i stable down for a 2 month period lets say ,

so do you think I would be able to survive?

to tell u the truth of my life

nurse salary in lebanon 900$
music produceiotn can make up to 1000$

but currently our city is being destroyed by political clashes so i hate staying here with my european wife.

to speak truth i don;t pay rent here i live with my mother ,in her house .

my salary in a studio i work is 400$ only! and i work on my own some months making extr 750$ some other time 0$

so this is why im thinking to take this 2000$ salary, basicly i dont want to save money coz what isneed of money if im not happy.

here in lebanon i live normal life ,i eat anything i want with that money and im happy i have a old car but benzine is very expensive so my total monthly cost without rent ,inclusive phone ,luxury clothes and food and all expenses like 600$ maybe not more ....

so u got the image now what do you think i should move to qatar ,

note that i will start with this salary for 6 months and then will grow up im so sure coz my potentials of growing in this company is secured...

kindly mention me what i should ask for before i sign a contract of work ... i have in my mind :

medical insurancce
tickets on off to my country
yearly vacation
working hours
financial package which i discusses
wife visa fees and assistance in paper work

what else i forgot help is required here plz.

your truly

for the positive comments u offered,

the same job in dubai the same company offered me 2200$ here they offer 3500$ but the issue is that how i will survive the first month?

shall i ask them to find me an accomocation for 1st month and transportation mean?

coz i dont know the system,

I did ask them but they said u have to take care....

so is it fair for some1 who doesnt know the country to go and from first day start work and find accomocation and tranpostation mean?

What is good, depends on what type of life you want here...a basic good housing, an OK car, normal household expenditue and basic family entertainment...if you are ok with this, this salary is not at all bad. But if you want to live life even quarter-king size, this amount would be less. You can save in this salary quite easily, if you want to do so...Pl look at your personal predilection and priorities in life. But on the whole, nobody can say that this amount cannot you enable you to lead a comfortable middle class existence out here.

It's possible to survive if you don't think of saving.

Hi krikor ,

Concerning the package in my opinion a person can manage his stuff based on the way he wants to live .

As for 500 $ for transportation its good and helps you to get a car loan for any new car here and the fuel is cheap but as long u will buy a new car no need to worry about service because its so expensive here .

For the housing , you can find in that amount but would be a very modest house even small size .

for the salary , as long you say ur intrest is not in saving money you are able to live in a good way within this amount .

if you see your salary will grow with time take that oppurtunity , i know what u feel now in lebanon but take also my advice to search for a work in your domain here you cant get a higher salary .

Goodluck .
