Hi,
I am looking for some more information about Al Khor International School - staff morale, students attitude to learning etc.
There seems to be very little about what the school is like for the expat staff, so honest opinions from staff, past or present would be very helpful.
Also, is there any reason for the high turnover of staff this year? Is this normal?

If it it is the case that negative threads are removed, please do send a PM - really need to have a clear picture before even considering taking on a post there!

Thanks

Hi miabear,

I have accepted a job there (senior school) for September 2011. I have to say that I have only heard good things about the school, and have done extensive trawls through forums etc...

The principal and head of secondary are both great people, and the Al Khor community is fantastic.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who does actually teach there as well, but bear in mind that people have different experiences...

Are you in the senior or junior school (actually - did you accept the job)?

You have misunderstood cabbage,

I would like to know these things as a potential employee.I know not to always trust those who are the first to moan and complain -and as i'm in the UK, it is somewhat difficult for me to visit the school to get a feel for it, so relying on the current staff to give some sort of feedback. Are you able to help?

A good school will not show off, a good school will not brag about results.

A good school will show you a happy classroom where all children are accepted.

A good school will ask you to ask the puplis/children about the school they are in.

Don't judge on websites. Go and spend a day there and ask yourself; will my child/children fit in, be happy and learn.

Remember your childs education is not about you. It is about how your child learns.

Hi,

I know that if you asked the teachers in any school you would get a mixed response, but i'm only picking up a negative vibe so far. I suppose that i'm looking for someone - anyone - to come forward and list the good points of the school!

anyone?
