Estimated Living Costs for Couple
Hi there, I am moving to Qatar next month with my wife (no children). I plan to buy a second-hand car once I am there and live an average decent lifestyle. After researching through this forum, I have come up with an estimate of average MONTHLY living costs in Doha which are as follows:
Rent - QAR 9,000
Food - QAR 3,000
Car Insurance - QAR 500
Mobile/Internet - QAR 1,000 (all utilities)
Phone/Electricity/Water
Other Expenses - QAR 3,000
TOTAL - QAR 16,500
Is my estimate a practical one and easily achievable? Have I missed out any thing? Are the costs quite likely to be close to the above estimate of mine?
Please let me know. Cheers.
man 9000 is a bit high, u would get 2bhk furninshed around 7000-7500 but it would be atleast at 20 min drive to west bay, or you can look for an independent part of villa in dafna (very near to westbay) it would be around 6000-7000 but semi/un furnished
sorry on my estimate for rent, I assumed a fully furnished 2 bedroom + 2 bathroom apartment not far from West Bay where I will be working (like 20 to 30 min drive to West Bay in Morning Peak). Is QAR 9000 a good estimate for a decent 2BR+2BATH fully furnished apartment? What areas in Doha will likely fulfil my criteria? Cheers
Your computation is Fabulous Life in Qatar, if you come to work in Qatar then this is not advisable, save your money for your future.
I am always curious as to why people ask about estimated living costs..
We all have differening wants, habits, priorities and goals. So, surely my choice of apartment, car, food may be totally different from yours?
Just curious!
in his case he will pay car insurance every month being a new driver on Qatar roads tackling all the land cruiser :D
you missed
Souq waqif 400
Bars 500
corniche (tea) 100
petrol 500
Rent - QAR 5,500 (2 Bedrooms flat)
Food - QAR 3,000
Car Insurance - QAR 1,500 (per annum)
Mobile/Internet - QAR 1,000 (all utilities)
Phone/Electricity/Water
Other Expenses - QAR 3,000
Expenses there can be easily halved if you select the proper plans andsubscribe wisely...
Plus, thre are no phone expenses ...landline to landline is free
... or 800 QAR for a shared bedroom, even better: 500 QAR for a bedspace.
QR 6,000/- if opted for 2 BHK
The car insurance is per year, not per month.
