my cousins in doha, qatar want to send me a parcel for christmas here in india. it will probably include some clothes, watches, food stuffs, MP3 player, etc.

1)what are convenient Cost-Effective ways for them to send the parcel. it should be around 10kgs or more.Postal? courier? something that wont be too costly for them but is safe at the same time.
2)what about customs, i heard that they shouldnt include the boxes of newly purchased items in the parcel to avoid customs.
3)how long will the parcel take to arrive.

any suggestion and contact details would be appreciated. thank you.

Which city in India??

If there is nothing breakable or very expensive, send it through Qatar Post.. you can send maximum 20 kg.. they have different size of boxes.. you have to buy the box from any Qatar Post Office.. pack and book.

By Air Cargo:

First Kg. QR. 53

Each Additional 1 Kg. QR. 12

Weight Limit 20 Kg.

By Sea Cargo:

First Kg. QR. 46

Each Additional 1 Kg. QR. 7

Weight Limit 20 Kg.

If your are sending to any metro city like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, etc, Air Cargo will take around 20 days and Sea Cargo 30 days.

Add one more week for smaller cities in India.

Add one more week for Sea Cargo.

Hi

There are a lot of "Door to Door" Cargo Services in Doha, for India specially for Kerala. Call any one of them and they will tell you the cost, and customs charges if any for electronic items etc., They will charge you something like 7.00 QRs per kg if send by Air Cargo. Contact them and you will get all the required information.
