I have to choose... please help!

I was terminated by my company for reason of "redundancy".
So i ask for a release but they refused to give my indemnity for 3 years worth 55,000QAR.

The sponsor told me to choose only one:

1. Take Indemnity of 55,000 QAR and go home.

2. Take release and no 55,000 QAR.

Please help, what help me to choose, because 55,000 qar is 55,000 qar.

Thanks.

Reason of termination is Redundancy. Looks funny and I will have to agree with the first comment of SK (Racism). However the choice is yours. If you feel that a job in Qatar is more valuable than Qr. 55000 then go for the release and the cost for a release is Qr. 55000. Talk to someone who can help you to get the release for Qr. 5000 or 10000 (probably an Arabic speaking person can help you under the table).

Purely personal....You need to assess the pros and cons of the available options and decide on something which would be advantageous to you on a long run....

hi, mate, take my advise. take the money which is your belongs withour doubt and show the middle finger to both your *SS boss and sponsor. Leave for other GCC, such as Bahrain, most fabulous country in gulf.

The actual proposal means that you can 'buy' your NOC for 55.000 Riyals. Since the release it at the sole discretion of the employer there is nothing you can do (legally). Welcome to the Slave State of Qatar!

saeed, it only means the choice was made between the two. On what basis? We don't know. Racism is a strong word not to be misused.

I don't know the laws of Qatar, but you should talk to the Labour court.

The money is due to you whatever.

It is possible that the company has a rule that all employees are repatriated..

x-maki, searching job here and in any other GCC country is not much different. Hence the suggestion. But everything depends upon your priorities. With your salary, how long will it take to save 55000QAR?

It's just an opinion. Hope you get the best deal.

Depends on how easy it is for you to find a new job.

Plus, I do not know the rules on this, but you might want to check if it is actually legal that your sponsor makes you choose between the money and a release.
