By Master_Jay •
Hey,
The new event is posted here - http://www.qatarliving.com/events/music/armin-van-buuren-live-in-doha-an...
It will feature worlds number 1 dj Armin Van Buuren, number 8 DJ Markus Schulz & rising star Glen Morrison.
Organizer... I guess u have realised one thing after 2 events.. crowd is gettin lesser n lesser every event.. I witnessed both the events.. tiesto n armin.. honestly enjoyed both but u must accept crowd was not as expected.. dint even fill half the place.. its purely coz of the price.. if u need more crowd, reduce it a bit.. david guetta had more ppl coz it was lil lesser.. hope u ll take this into consideration next time.. btw armin stole the nigth yesde :) :) markus was equally good !
Master_Jay,
You did come across a bit arrogant and on the defensive side. This happened probably because you took the "complaints", personally and not professionally as you should have.
Again, it takes time and preferably an education to acquire an excellent professional profile.
Take this as an opportunity for growth.
Aside from the way you exposed yourself to us, we all got your point about the excessive ticket price you charge and we will all decide if it’s worth it.
If you read the comments above, the complaints about the price were not related to the quality of the artists you bring over here, but mostly about the venue and its conditions (sound, atmosphere, restrictions in alcohol consumption, etc, etc, etc...).
That's where we think, you don't listen to your customers.
Please read BluePanther's comment (Wed, 06/10/2010 - 1:16pm) to get an idea of what people think about your "parties" at Intercontinental "beach".
Considering that we are in Doha, where beach parties are not what they're supposed to be and that no miracles can be performed by extraordinary artists when the venue and atmosphere are just not right, most of us would prefer to have an in-door venue where the sound and atmosphere would definitely be more adequate.
Please consider this and measure your customer's feedback before and after taking the decision. You might be surprised by the results.
Thank you.
Hi everyone..
I commented on another post, people mistook my forwardness of being straight to the point as being arrogant: i was simply telling how it is. This is the city we live in. The ticket price is in relation to the costs involved when producing in the local market.
Thousands of people loved the last event and im sure it will be the same for Armin, a few think it is expensive, im trying to show you why its expensive, i even agreed that it was, but unfortunately that is out of our control and i explained why. That's all.
If you want to speak to me call 55948760.. Do not write that we do not care about customer feedback, because i am only a phone call away and people who have been attending all of our events for the last 5 years know what we are all about and that's why we have lasted as long and continue to offer bigger shows all the time.
Global DJs offers DJ events and dance music orientated events, that's what it does, it will never offer other alternatives as that is not what Global DJs is about, its about showcasing dance music related artists.

pricess r high again? Is this a entertainment business or some fish market?
Wanna here here drowning from mirage looouuudd..
Thnx jay from bringing AVB to us..
Plur.
Armin celebrated his ASOT 350 for free and then decided to keep a small entrance fee for ASOT 400 because he found unwanted people at the gig. In a manner it is good that the tickets are priced a bit high at least we won't find unwanted people at such events. I would also like to add that these events are not meant for a "night out" for couples, its for true fans and trance lovers. If such couples want to have a "night out" go for a movie and have a nice dinner at some good restaurant and go home. Besides be grateful that the Government is allowing such events to take place in such country. This place is not Goa or Ibiza.
yup folks..am very eager to attend this event..unfortunately am jobless now...and i would like enjoy directly his best track[in and out of love]..ooops..am really gonna miss again...
whyteknight,
If it’s the same gang of cowboys I met on a Halloween party in the desert, 2 years ago, we shouldn't expect any thing more than that, as they dropped out of school ahead of their time.
I really like the way they are responding to customer feedback by replying with the following points.
1. You don't have money
2. You have no taste
3. You don't know anything about how things work
4. You are gossiper
ex.ex.expat,
its like the Xmas concerts in some Jails.
no matter how bad it is, its all they will get.
no other alternative in this entertainment "desert" and that is why that they don’t give a damn about customer feedback.
don't care about the quality and value of the show and are so arrogant about the scam they are running? It's just a sign of how desperate some people are here in Qatar and how you can sell almost anything to desperate people.
Dj Bong,
Please read again and try to understand like all the rest Qlers did, that the question is what we are getting for that money. The venue is just far from ideal!
Refer to BluePanther's comment above and after that try to answer this simple question:
Do you care that the venue is far from adequate?
lol..yea some ppl close their eyes when they dance...
FS - too much loud music muddles the mind :-)
dj..why cant ppl like you accept the facts?
Like i mentioned the Ministry of Sound gig was plain awesome. Great Music, Awesome Crowd and Good Price to boot. It was held at the Diplomatic Club tent. Even the Gig at the diplomatic club after the tiesto concert was great. Everybody said the tiesto gig was okay and the same like last year.
The beach ain't a good place for these kinda concerts. This ain't Ibiza, Mykonos or Goa. Worse getting booze from one place and not being allowed to take your booze closer to the action is a dampener.Listen to tiesto/AVB without a drink sucks.
300 for bachelors who have nothing to spend on in Qatar might be great but not for couples where you have to spend 600. I get the point on high cost etc etc but you mentioned 4,000 plus crowd - tht is more than a million riyals plus you have sponsors..DJ's do not cost that much. 50,000 Euro at the max - which is QAR 250,000.
Btw are you withholding tax when paying DJ tiesto/AVB???
Nic..
The difference between u n me is I wouldn't complain for an extra vercharged 100..
But maybe u dint get paid this month..
R u gonna enter th event having fun or still walking around and complaining about the price to different people.. Save your gossip for ur friends not me..
C ur regretfull axx in the party..
Iam out..
Dj,
So you don’t care if the venue is far from adequate?
People that attend these parties overseas do tend to compare and evaluate the differences.
You can’t rely forever on those who don’t know better, eventually you'll be left alone...
Damn nic.. Take it easy.. Save ur 300 riyals And sit at home.
Dj Bong,
As a matter of fact, you are wrong. I do listen to that kind of music and I had the chance to do so in great venues that are adequately prepared for that quality of show, in NY, Miami, Montreal, London, Madrid, Berlin, HKG, Tokyo, Sydney, etc...
But the conditioned beach of Intercontinental does not have the conditions to justify 300QR, regardless the huge cost it takes to bring the concerned artists here.
Can't you get a better place to ensure a better acoustic and overall dance party atmosphere? so you could justify the high cost of the tickets?
These parties' atmosphere in the Intercontinental beach with all the rules and restrictions leave us the impression that 300QAR is a waste of money... when compared with similar parties elsewhere!
Thank you jay.
People who think the tickets r expensive.. R the people who don't listen to that kind of music.
People who r complaining abt the price r just a bunch if gossipers.. Who are nyways not going..
"... And the beat goes on ..."
whyteknight,
Had a look at the link you provided, the organizer appeared to be too arrogant...
Is it still a no-alcohol policy in these "beach parties"?
Didn't he play for Ipswich Town in his heyday ??
Nic read this thread
http://www.qatarliving.com/node/1347000
Nic..obviously these kinda events are not for the underpaid ppl..:)
Master_Jay,
Don't you think 300QR is way to expensive for most of the people who work and live here in Qatar?
how do you do
if you promise this time i get a CD and those ear lightening then i will come
every time i come and i dont get them :/
and if i will not get then you pay my ticket.
Thank you :D
