Saudi Prince Murders Servant

ShabzA
By ShabzA

A Saudi prince murdered his servant in an attack which had a "sexual element", the Old Bailey has heard.

Bandar Abdulaziz, 32, was found beaten and strangled to death in the Landmark Hotel, Marylebone, central London, on 15 February.

The court was told Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud had carried out several assaults on the victim before he died.

Mr al Saud, 34, admits the killing but denies murder and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent.

The jury has been asked to decide whether he is guilty of manslaughter or murder.

Saying this nicely: You are homophobic. Just be honest with yourself.

I don't think the sexuality should come into this trial. This guy killed someone khallas - let him face a sentence.

The prosecution are using sexuality as grounds for a manslaughter not murder charge.

why would you want them to seek councelling?

Are they not nice people as they are? Who are you to judge and tell them they need councelling? Its not a mental condition Flor...

as has been posted here numerous times, its something they are born with - do you really think anyone in their right might would mentally tell themselves they are gay, if they aren't?

Why would anyone put themselves in that kind of situation (unless they are looking for attention, which most people aren't) Much of society still isn't used to all this "homosexuality" hype, but you think that people will tell themselves they are gay even if they aren't, and its nothing that a little therapy wouldn't fix?

homophobic? Just thinking or wanting them to go for counseling is already homophobic? If they seek counseling, fine, if they don't also fine, so where's homophobic there?

By Xena• 6 Oct 2010 14:20
Xena

You are either homophobic or totally confused....

You cannot accept a gay friend AND want him/her to change his/her ways - then technically you are homophobic - and so we are back to the beginning.

Its like me saying I love animals, but then saying but I cannot stand having animals around me.... see, a totally contridictory statement.

My opinion is they need counseling to go back to what is natural, man and woman, not man and man or woman and woman. It's how it should be. But of course,if one doesn't believe in the Creation theory, they will not accept this.

I am not homophobic, that's what others want to picture us or those who opposed their views in one thread!

By Xena• 6 Oct 2010 14:02
Xena

you need to reword how you feel, because what I got out of the post I clarified on, is that you are homophobic.

When in actual fact, you just don't like gay PDAs (Public displays of affection).

By flor1212• 6 Oct 2010 13:54
flor1212

my view. I have a lot of gay friends. They can come to us eat n our house or even sleep there. But when they start dating same sex, they need to do it discreetly, not in front of me or if they start it, I need to go away. What they do is for them to enjoy. Sorry, maybe my personal conviction (my religion) influenced me a lot. I accept them as human but to me a same sex relationship is a no no, unless I don't see it! So I hope it clears things now! I don't want two guys kissing in public openly (as in kissing).

Now before anybody contradict the "abnormality" thing, this is my view as I respect others views. Check my previous comments on similar issues!

'But honest and many time I said, gays are okay with me. It's their sexual preference that I don't AGREE.'

YOu cannot be ok with gays if your don't agree on their sexual preference. Besides the word "gay" meaning the obvious - "she is a gay and happy person" the word gay means someone who prefers their own sex...

I hate to tell you this Flor, but you do seem to have a problem with "gay" (those who prefer same sex partners) people.

He deserve the capital punishment as per the shariah law which I afraid he will get if extrradition to Saudi Arabia. Let the UK courts decide his fate and give him the maximum punishment for this crime.

it's quite simple. If a major arms deal with Saudi is on the table, then the verdict will be lenient.

In fact, depending on his 'wuster', this court case may just prompt Saudi to show an interest in purchasing some British built fighter jets (I am sure there will be some hidden strings attached)!!!!!

i can't wait to read how will it be covered in Saudi media. Saudi bloggers and tweets are keeping silence.

I agree with Britexpat, that it might be a sex game went wrong.

The victim is a saudi. Although Saudi abolished slavery in the 1960's and slaves were granted citizenship , many remained working for the Al-Saud.

By adey• 5 Oct 2010 18:59

The only difference is this:

"Saudi Arabian sources claim the man died as a result of an injury sustained during an earlier street mugging."

This is debunked by the CCTV footage of the accused causing these injuries. Plus the Police pathologist said the injuries on the deceased were fresh and could not have been sustained on the night the Saudi Prince says the man was mugged.

By britexpat• 5 Oct 2010 18:53

I remember when it happened - the accused refused to talk and then we heard nothing more of the case.

After months of Police investigation charges have been made and this is the prosecution's evidence, as given in court - you will have to wait until they have finished to hear the defence arguments - this may tally more with the version you previously heard.

Ps he is admitting manslaughter but denying murder.

given the nature of his injuries and eye witness accounts that the victim was being beaten on several occasions over a month - some caught on hotel CCTV:

"The body of Mr Abdulaziz was found lying on his bed in a pool of blood. He had been punched in the face, strangled and bitten, the court was told. His lips had been split open and his teeth broken, bones in his neck had been fractured and he had suffered brain injuries.

The prosecutor said: 'Of particular relevance to the nature of the attack suffered by Banda were signs that he had been bitten. It is certainly not a typical feature of such violence and bite marks to the cheeks have an obvious sexual connotation.'

The pair had arrived at the hotel in Marylebone Road on January 20. Officers recovered CCTV from the hotel lifts which showed Al Saud subjecting Mr Abdulaziz to a 'really nasty assault' on January 22.

Further footage captured another attack on February 5 and a third on the night of the killing where Al Saud was seen kicking the victim.

Mr Laidlaw said Mr Abdulaziz appeared to have been 'bearing the signs of injuries' throughout his stay in London but the assault on January 22 seemed to be the first captured on film.

The men had spent the evening of January 21 at the Matsuri restaurant in St James before going on apparently to a bar or club. Returning to the hotel at about 4am, the prince began attacking his servant in the lift, the court heard.

'It is a nasty assault with the victim suffering a whole series of blows being struck with both fists and elbows,' said Mr Laidlaw.

On January 24 when they went out for dinner to a restaurant, where Mr Abdulaziz kept his hat, coat and sunglasses on throughout, the court heard. A barman noticed his lips were swollen and he seemed to have trouble eating.

One of the porters noticed a couple of days later that his face was swollen and he 'looked like he had been badly beaten up', the jury heard. Mr Abdulaziz was persuaded to take a taxi to hospital where he was treated but 'appeared reluctant' to report the assault on him to police.

A sister in the accident and emergency department at St Mary's Hospital said it was the 'worst injury' of its type she had ever seen. It turned out to be so severe that it needed reconstructive surgery, the court heard."
