Recently we among friends exchanged so many letters and fotos for Vikas (you may not know him, he is just an unknown person from an even more unknown area) bash for opening of a store dealing in scrap.
I was surprised to see that everybody was dressed appropriately wearing some stuff from the road side befitting the store which was into dealing with some odd second hand or scrap bathroom fittings and stuff except owners own brother who was wearing a branded suit, necktie, Aldo shoes, etc.
Even when my friend got married in India 5 years back I saw so many of his relatives who belong to very poor families also wearing very high end clothes and jewelry even though the marriage was organized in not so up class venue whereas for other weddings they were just wearing the normal clothing brought from the road side.
Last year I was in Delhi staying in a very low end apartment society. Almost everybody was into menial jobs which would not be able to get them proper two meals a day. There on the streets by raising cheap tents we used to arrange personal parties to entertain our close friends. Even in those festival or b'day parties given by us or others I saw few ladies wearing branded short skirts/ hot pants and tank tops with high end shoes.
Is it right to wear such costly and glittering attire to a poorly-organized party in a not so happening place attended by the poor people or it is someone's own mental sickness to ruin all the looks of the venue or they just want to show themselves very hi-fi or is it some kind of superiority complex in mind.
I feel pity for all these people.
