Belkin Double N+ Router No internet access
I got a belkin double N+ router and I'm having some trouble setting it up.
First, I connected the power supply
Then, I connected it to the modem which is connected to Qtel internet
Then, I ran the setup
Then, I selected PPPoE as the network type and used brqg(mytelephonenumber) as a username and qatar12 as the password
The setup wizard finished
I still can't access internet. The red light for internet is blinking.
Are there any suggestions?
How much do you charge to reset these belkin routers as i have even been on the telephone to Belkin UK and it still will not work
@TS: netgear dg834g is a modem /wireless router .y do you still need the belkin wireless router? dont make your network complicated. netgear is already a wireless router. what do you realy want to achieve?
anyway, belkin is only a router not a modem/router thats why it doesnt have telephone port or rj11. let me guess,i think ,you want to extend your wireless signal. better you buy wireless repeater or extender / or wireless AP.
note: check that your ip address will not conflict on both routers. you must use different subnet.
if you can make a diagram of your network connection.post it here so that we can help you better.
Well I tried to connect the double N+ router to directly into the wall socket and it didn't work either. I think its something to do with the cable since I think Qtel only supports 4 connector cables and the cable is a 6 connector one. I think Qtel needs a RJ11, not an RJ45.
Anyways, the manual says you need a modem for the belkin N+ to work. All lights on the netgear is green, but the belkin still can't connect for some reason. I also have the router set to PPPoE and the VCI and VPI are correct.
Flabo netgear dg834g is a modem/router also no need for another modem.
gelo is correct. Your router is a router/modem no need to use the old modem. VPI/VCI is 8/35. Use LLC for PPPoE or VCMux for PPPoA. If all LED shows green then you are connected to qtel. disable the WPS (wi-fi protected setup) and try to disable the wi-fi security to check if you can connect.
I'm using belkin N1 vision.
Goodluck.
1. What is the WAN port? I just have a modem port that connects to the modem. Any how do I set it as DHCP? I think I have DHCP already enabled.
2. How do I change the modem to bridge mode? Its a netgear dg834g
3. Its not possible for me to use the belkin as modem and router since it NEEDs a modem.
Thanks for the help though.
based on your setup. you dont need to configure your belkin as router anymore coz its already configured in the modem.
you have options in order to work.
1. connect the WAN port of your belkin to the LAN port of your qtel modem and set the WAN as DHCP.
2. if you want to use your belkin as modem/router. change the mode of the modem to Bridge mode.
3. or remove the modem just use the belkin only and configure as PPPoE.you should know the VPI and VCI default value of qtel.usually 8 and 35..and also the encapsulation. and usually PPPoE LLC.
