Hi Doha,

I have just moved in to Doha to work in a bank as a network/security expert. I have been promised a salary of 35000 QR and some one time benefits of Furniture Expense and 6 yearly tickets (Any Class). I have 12 years of international experience but not in Middle East mainly in Europe and Singapore as network security guy.

I still have some scope for negotiation although i have done one round already. I have a one (2 year old) girl and wife to support. Considering there is no other benefit do you think we can save and have a good life here in qatar.

By the way back in my home town i used to save some 2000 USD per month.

Although i am new to qatar, will be today 5 days old but i am hooked to QL since last 1 month. Need all your support guys.

Man, after landing here in DOHA and getting a salary of 35k with other facilities, you are asking us whether the offer is good or not??? :)))

When you are already in DOHA, there is no meaning to repent on it now..lol..Try to be satisfied with what you have got..

Very good offer...only thing to add is ask for the education allowance for your daughter as you would need that in a year time and schools fees are not cheap here.

You can easily save above 15000 QAR per month with good life style.

Well, this is what you will be spending:

1. House Rent monthly

villa (10,000 - 14,000) depending on what you chose

Apartment (5000 - 8000) depending on what you chose

2. Monthly expenses on food, electricity, water, phone

from 5000 - 8000

3. Transportation

(if you buy a car, , monthly payment of 1000 - 1500)

4. Medical

you need to take insurance if not covered by your

company

So, at high end, your monthly expense could be 25,000 and on lower end 20,000

So, you save from 10,000 - 15,000 monthly i.e close to 3000$ - 5000$

Regards
