KSA and UAE will disable blackberry services soon that means the device is totally useless.
Will they ban iPhone too now because appstore got porn applications in store to be downloaded on iPhones PLUS iPads.

I mean Qatar is giving a shot, so it joins with UAE and KSA at the moment :-). even it wasnt easy decision for BB to shift to India from their home Canada, given the fact they need to retain millions of BB user in worlds second fastest mobile market. Ultimately they gave up with reluctance. So need to understand why would Qatar need such!!

shyams numbers matter to BB, Qatar doesn't have enough to get a server in qatar. Maybe if the entire GCC decides to act, they can get one local server in GCC.

They are in a business, they aren't out to massage countries' egos.

After India threaten to ban Blackberry if they don’t shift their servers to India and disclose the sensitive communications, Blackberry had to agreed. So if this tactics works, why not Qatar try its empowerment :-)

DaRuDe: There was a huge hue and cry when Steve Jobs banned porn from the app store. Google it. But, you can still get 18+ content in the form of sexual education books like Kamasutra and all but you cannot term it porn.

I also registered in the US store since the variety of apps (free and non free) is way bigger than the one in the "local store".

@newkidontheblock: Saudi and KSA are the same. Saudi is the short name and KSA is the abreviated form of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

@dandem: in the article ity says "until a government entity or security agency proves the fact that the BB services are affecting the National Security of the country no action will be taken".

Meaning if somebody comes with an idea that it could be affecting then the services will be banned/suspended.

Guys let's hope for the best on this...however and as Darude Says "if those services are banned then the device is useless"

Regards!!
