Travelling Route to Oman
Folks,
I wish to travel to Oman by road on a weekend. Have following questions in my mind.
1- What would be the route
2- Do I need visa for Oman or I shall be able to get it upon arrival?
3- Do I need to pass through Saudi?
4- How much travelling distance?
5- Can I travel at night (being alone)?
Would appreciate if anyone could help.

Thanks AlphaQ. You gave me very precise information.
I have been to Oman 3 times via road. It will take about 14/15 hours to reach Muscat. You will definately require Saudi visa (as they do not give visa on arrival) which you can get applying through any of the agents. below might help you for your route:
1 - Qatar-Saudi (about 50mins)add another 45mins to 1hr for immigrations & customs
2 - Saudi-UAE (about 80 mins) add another 45mins to 1hr for immigrations & customs
3 - UAE - Oman (5-6 hrs) add another 1hr-1-1/2hrs for immigrations & customs
4 - Border to Muscat (3-4hours)
Have a nice journey and all the best. last but not least avoid driving in night on highways.
Generally, wastage of time happens, in borders, as u have to cross Qatar border ( 15mins), saudi border (2hrs), dubai border (30mins), oman border 1hour, so these are all the hurdles, and u can take average 100kmph speed including all stoppages, so ideally 12hrs should be okay
At least 10 hours!
Thanks a lot for all the information. A general question, how much driving hours it usually takes (with few 10 minutes stops).
Answers are :
1. The route will be to cross saudi border go towards Dubai and road signs are available from there on.
2. Visa on arrival is available in Oman,
3. Yes u have to cross Saudi border, for that u have to take visa.
4. Distance is around 800-900km ( i am not 100% sure)
5. Yes u can travel during night as well, no issues.
