7 Yrs in jail for blasphemy, 5 for murder.
So if a victim family forgives you then your jail sentence is reduced for murder, but if you mutter blasphemous words, your going to jail for longer!

there is no one penal code in the gulf countries but all laws are based on the sharia....countries exercise their own level of moderation to suit their state policies..
in dubai, its 2 to 3 months for illegal sex while in qatar its one year..
in sharjah 17 get death for one murder...weird !!
Quite unbelievable. There have been other ones in teh past as well. Kill a Pakistani pedistrian through speeding and reckless driving, 150,000 QR blood money and your driving licence suspended for 6 months. Have 'illegal' sex 1 year in jail..... shocking
