Visit visa (tourist visa) to Doha, Qatar

Hi, I am from Slovak Republic (EU) but live in United Kingdom since 2005 (I am not a British citizen yet). My friend is working in Qatar (not Qatar citizen) and I would like to visit him for a week. I will apply for tourist visa at the Qatar embassy here in London. How big are my chances to get visa if I provide the embassy with all the info they require for visa application: passport photos, application form, passport, copy of the passport where the picture is, 3 months bank statement, even the copy of my payslip (not required by the embassy), confirmation letter from my employer here in London (not required by the embassy)? I will stay at my friends place not in a hotel. Many thanks.

I think what I am going to do is I will send my friend to a hotel so I can stay at his apartment while I am there...just to respect the rules of the country and not to breach the law!

I hope they will not deny my visa application just because I am from Slovak Republic and not married so they might think I want to stay in Qatar. That is why I thought I will provide a confirmation letter from my employer and the copy of my payslip too just to give them enough proof that I will be coming back to the UK.

Hi, thats seems ok, but incase if Qatar embassy asked you regarding the hotel booking, you may have dummy booking from any hotel in Qatar.

also another solution, some hotels in Qatar may issue a tourist visa. but its coasty.

Is it legal? No. Is it possible? Maybe. Is it OK? Who knows? If you come to a country where the laws are enforced in a sometimes seemingly arbitrary manner and you plan on breaking them you really can't predict the outcome. Neither can we.

But on the application form you have to give an address where I am going to stay in Qatar and I cannot give an address of a hotel I do not have booking with because they might ask for it or they can ask me why I have not arranged the visa with the hotel if I will stay in that hotel. I am giving an address of an apartmant house but not mentioning anywhere in my application I am satying with a male friend. Is it ok?

don't tell that you'll stay in your male friend's house... its a no no...

tell them you'll just stay in hotel... good luck..

I think the problem might be staying with your (male) friend.
