French Visa

Hi

My family wants to visit France in March and has some questions regarding application of visa.

Do we need to have an appointment before we go to the embassy? Does my 8 year-old-son need to be present as well? I want to be sure because this means he has to miss class should his presence be required. I've searched through the forums and couldn't find any reference to these questions. I've tried calling French Embassy for several days but nobody picks up the phone. And, are there long queues?

Appreciate very much any answer I get.

No appointment needed , just gather the required documents and go directly, they are nice people and they will ask you to wait 2 weeks then you will come to have the visa printed on your passport.

Best of Luck !

i applied schengen visa through the embassy few years ago. They only issued the form in certain amount. Lets say they only have 40 form for 1 day, you will have to come early in order to receive the form.

Best you get the form first, and they usually will give you list of what documents need to be submit. Most of schengen country requirement are all pretty standard. Hotel booking, flight ticket, 6 mths salaries, insurance , sponsor letter, photos etc etc.

I did mention that in my post above. Just now, I tried calling again but the phone just keeps on ringing. I want to be sure that everything is in order before we go there as me and my husband works and we might need to take a leave especially for that day and I don't want it to be wasted

Why don't you call the embassy and ask? It would be much faster...

Thank you very much Darude but that information I got already from the embassy's website. What I wanted to know specifically are: do we need to have an appointment before going there? Or just walk in with our application? Or if my son's presence is required...

Thanks again.
