Hi. Boxers and all dogs with a snub muzzle should not come here, it is too hot for them. These dogs are not as efficient as the longer nosed breeds at shedding heat and will struggle from May until September anywhere outside

I worked at the vet clinic here doing relocation for 2 years and strongly advise you to engage a relocator to help you. It isn't complicated for someone who deals with the Misistry and knows how they work to arrange an Import Licence for a restricted breed but for sure you have to be very honest with them. We imported family Bulldogs and Staffies in this time through the proper process but it does need someone experienced to clear customs on your behalf. Qatar Pet Relocators and Doha vets both offer this service.

I agree with Chelsea, if anything they are stricter than many other places. Make sure you use an IATA approved crate if you want to take the dog back in the same one, buying one that says flight approved is not sufficient here. I have known several cats and dogs not being loaded onto their flights because the crate is not IATA approved or too big/small.

Also, sorry to have to bring this up but you will have to be very careful with him, you will be stopped by people wanting to buy him from you a lot. If I were you, I would not walk him on the streets, instead take him to quiet beaches and once a week go to Zikreet for a really safe and good run. If you are out walking and you think someone is interested, don't let them follow you home. Make sure he is microchipped and don't leave him outside in the yard unsupervised to long periods. I am sure you will be fine but sadly there are people who try. I have a deerhound I brought from the UK and get hassled a lot and I know of many people with Bulldog breeds who also get the same.

Yes you can get a boxer into the country if you have the correct paperwork and permission. With dogs, all their paperwork is checked and even if the dog is not a restricted breed, if the paperwork is wrong then the dog is confiscated until the correct paperwork is produced.

Every dog that enters Qatar has to complete a police clearance before being released from the airport and despite popular belief - they are NOT stupid. Trying to get a boxer in as a mixed breed won't work and he'll be confiscated from you. If you've lied on the paperwork then your chances of getting him back are slim.

Restricted breeds need to be shipped as cargo and a professional relocator used to make sure you don't have any problems at the airport and to apply for the permits on your behalf (they have to be done in person).
