Another opinion poll... :)
Okies....here's one for the QL ladies. The men on board are also welcome to add comments if u're interested.
Just the other day I was having a mild argument with my aunt over the usage of the type of kitchen utensils.I supported use of wooden ladles and wooden cutting boards. She strongly advocates steelware and Pyrex dishes for refrigerator storage.I'd always thought that wooden is always better. But some of the arguments she put across were also sensible. What's your take on it?What is your personal choice? And why?
1. Wood
2. Glass
3. Earthenware/Porcelain
4. Stainless Steel
5. Aluminium
6. Plastic
P.S:I really what to know what the popular choice is coz in case i've been wrong in my choice,I'd like to correct myself :-)

There is also a difference in the taste of food cooked in earthernwares. Feels more natural
they chop the meat on wood. Did you notice it?
besides, i like the sound of knife chopping crunchy vegetables on wooden board :)
Yalla!
wooden chopping board are the best, i can comfortably scrape it with the knife with no fear of something poisonous( as in plastic) going somewhere into my body.
Yalla!
I love dark wood furniture... nice kitchen!

no,i don't use wooden utensils at all.just ladles and my chopping board are wood.we do have stainless steel and plastic ladles too....but somehow,i feel more comfy with wood.
and i've heard that storing certain types of food in plastic containers is not good.something about there being reactions and staining of the vessels and stuff.we store food in stainless steel vessels or pyrex dishes.

agree with the possibility of there being germs on wooden chopping boards....but i was under the impression that even if a few tiny splinters of wood get into our system,it's okay....afterall wood is organic.but plastic chopping boards?plastic in our system?.....well,i don't know

I suppose you dont buy fresh meat.
Plastic can be used to store dry un-cooked food. But aluminum is a strict no-no. Cooking and storing in aluminium ware is said to be dangerous to health.
I prefer wooden ladles for non-stick type utensils. And for cooking copper bottom steel utensils.
Wooden in refrigerators? I think the wet damp wood quickly catches the fungus, so I would not use any wooden material for storing in refrigerator.
Everything's gonna be alright!!!
Wooden chopping boards can harbour all sorts of nasties! I much prefer platic.
My coking spoons and ladles are plastic (the oxo / good grips ones are fantastic and durable)
Oven cookware is ceramic / pyrex
The main problem with wood is that it is porous and therefore can retain moisture including germs. It if very difficult to sanitize.
