Yes, photography is allowed but it shouldn't be. My visit was spoiled by a group of about 6 couples taking pictures of each other next to the exhibits. They weren't looking at the exhibits, just taking pictures and getting in everyone's way.

Flash photography or any photography is generally not allowed inside any standard museum containing arts etc.
I don't know the reason.
But flash photography is very harmful for paintings. The colors may get burnt by exposure to excessive light.

in fact i went with my camera and i used flash too .. but not sure about the tripod ..
one photography tip:
Better not to use a flash ..
instead raise up ur iso and open wide ur lens .. which will make the shutter speed quit enough to be steady and sharp image ..
If tripod is allowed ..
That's the best thing .. close ur lens to get more depth of field and slower ur shutter speed .. adjust the ISO to a proper setting ..
to add, no flash photography

You can take all the photos you like, ... but ...
You can not take a tripod inside and do not lean against the display cases.
People are spreading "rumours" even about this???
Photography is allowed there.
Absolutely yes, only videos are not allowed..
A Few Breed of Men...
The Museum for Islamic Art allows Photos for sure.
You need a photographic brain, that's all.
