visit visa extension

I finally got a visit visa for my mom and she came to Doha last week. Her visa is valid for 1 month and I would like to extend it for another 3-6 months. Can somebody tell me what has to be done? I heard we need to go to Medical Commission first for her medical. What should we bring there? Do we have to fill up any forms first?

I already tried the "search" option here in Qatarliving but just want to know the most updated procedure...THANKS!

Yes, you need to bring her to the medical commission (usually done within the first 7 days of stay). There's a form to be filled up. You can get that from your office PRO or you can just pay QR10 there in the medical commission for typing. (there is a line inside for typing the forms, a local Qatari woman does the typing) you just have to come early coz there are times that it will take you one hour to finish just the typing itself.

Reminders:

1. Bring the visa copy and passport copy of your mother.

2. Resident permit (pataka) of her sponsor (if you are the sponsor, then you have to present your pataka).

-you will present the visa, passport and ID to the typist-

3. you will go straight to the next room, present the filled up form and they will just ask for your cellphone number or any contact number.

4. Pay Qr100 after the form is being accomplished. (Ask you mother to get seated on the cashier's area so when you get to finish the form, she's already near the counter for payment.) She has to do the payment herself, coz she will be taken picture.

5. After payment, she has to go draw blood and do x-ray.

---Process Finished---

They will call you if there's a problem.

After the medical, you can go to immigration for the visa extension application.

Our PRO asked for her original passport, visa copy, accomplished medical forms (stamped from the medical commission), sponsor's ID (pataka), marriage contract of my mother, my birth certificate (and marriage contract).

I don't know if he presented all this in the immigration...

QR200 per month. You can have an extension up to 6 months.

Hope i helped!

Good luck and God bless!

PM me if something's not clear... :)
