Driving from Qatar to Saudi Arabia & UAE, and sand dunes

Hi all,

I hope you've all had a great Eid break :) My dad is scheduled to be in Doha next month, and we were thinking about going to the sand dunes here and maybe going to Dhamma in Saudi Arabia and hoepfully visit UAE as well by road. I was wondering if you know:

1) rentable cars that can make it through the sand dunes?
(and maybe any of you are willing to rent it to us at a certain price from Jan 29~30?)

2) Visa requirements for Saudi and UAE for crossing land borders?

If any of you have the experience of driving from here to Saudi/UAE I'd be so thankful to hear them.

Thank you so much!!

Best,
Janice

If you want to drive to UAE, non-residents of qatar do not normally get a 2-way transit visa for saudi arabia ie. they will have to fly back, which makes it very difficult but thats the rule I believe. Suggest your dad try to get his saudi transit/visit visa from country of residence.
