What is the social scene like in the city? do the expats meet up often? are there many single people? single ladies?
I used to play alot of rugby when I was younger so was thinking that the Rugby club might be a good starting point??? what do you guys think?
Catch you all soon!

Ha! a Fix!
I need a Rugby Club fix!
Oh yeah! Rugby club, is where u need to start off, i will be heading there today, i can let in 1 guest. let me know... u can check the whole place ur self!
The Rugby Club is probably an excellent place to start your social networking.
As for the social scene - there are several "trendy" bars - I can't name them, I'm not a trendy person - but I have colleagues who frequent them. All bars are in 5* hotels and I think the Rugby club is now the only place to get a drink outside of a hotel (but you can get an alcohol permit to buy at the QDC once you're here).
I believe there is a branch of the Hash House Harriers here, there seems to be an active kiteboarding bunch from what I see at the beach. I imagine you'll find lots to do once you get out and make a few acquaintances -
