Combining Salary to meet the requirements for Residence Permit/Family Visa

Please help us, our daughter is here on visit visa and we want her to stay here with us (as she is our only child). But the problem is my husband's salary is not enough to sponsor her. Is it possible to combine our salaries to meet the requirement, what is the procedure and the requirements.

He tried doing so, twice but he was rejected. Bad thing is, they did "that", you know, helped another employee but they couldn't help us. Anyways, thanks for your reply.
