Bodypainter's naked ambition
I am seriously thinking of switching jobs.......
A New York artist is earning a living - by bodypainting surreal faces on to naked women.
Andy Golub, 43, specialises in daubing exotic designs onto female skin, covering groups of girls from top-to-toe in his vivid designs.
He exhibits his group paintings in local galleries, but also works on individual women on a commission basis.
And sometimes he just takes his brushes to the street in search of willing 'canvases' to paint for parades and parties.
He said: "I've been bodypainting for four years and I've been a professional artist for 10 years.
"A single bodypainting takes around three to four hours, but for a performance I paint in around 30 minutes.
"And if I do a large group of people at a party or a parade, it's much quicker than that.
"People often hire me to paint them, mostly women. Sometimes a man will hire me to paint his wife or girlfriend as a birthday present."

Dali:I understand what you are trying to say. But do consider the fact that in those cultures also, there are lots of people who are the 'puritan' type. Just coz they dont go around being all self-righteous and 'tsk, tsk' ing about what others are doing doesnt mean the whole culture is desensitised.

QL- I'm not comparing men to pigs either, just drawing attention to strong link in behavioral patterns of men who eat pork MAY begin to behave like pigs.
I was going to mention another Quranic link but I didn't want to go too far. However since you opened the subject on something similar, then yes indeed there are strong biological factors that link pigs & apes to humans.
It's no coincidence that the only animal who's organs are similar to a humans and in fact is harvested for use directly in animal human transplant is that of a Pig.
In particular a human recipient of a bovine valve is used in life saving heart surgery. Because Pig is the closest compatible donor to humans.
You can also see the strong link between ape and man whereby both the DNA of chimpanzees is 98.4% identical to that of humans.
I don't know if this strong scientific link and comparrison to Quranic facts been doccumented yet, but for some time now, for me at least, this proves beyond a shadow of doubt that that those whom were smited by God and turned into Pigs and Apes as revealed in the Quran is now backed by scientific proof.

Back to the thread, I wonder if Western exploitation of women is for mans entertainment an invention of man or woman? Yet Western woman accepts this exploitation freely and may even strongy object should she feel denied.
Yet an Eastern woman wearing modest clothing (can I use the bad M word here..a 'Muslim' womans attire) is seen as being dominated by male according to Western cultural etiquette. Where by we can argue that Western woman is the one who is the product through years of patraiarchal exploitation and is programmed into feeling that her essential freedom is being ripped away from here if she doesn't get to bear all. This could also explain why all the fuss is over the 2 inch skirt hemline uproar is in Qatar.
Again, This particular thread brings to us what is actually celebrated Western 'art'....when you Google the artist you find a pattern in his abstract style whereby the he paints many of the women's breasts into large, unattractive, blank staring eyes under the guise of ART, obviously art with a sense of humor.
But I wonder who exactly is the joke on?
What is really humorous is that if you don't side with the Western views you aren't (heres my bomb) cultured enough. By the look of things and Eastern's dislightened race to makeup for lost time, it may not be too long before the East starts adopting these ideologies and the 'man who isn’t jealous because he eats pork' will prove the theory wrong because the Eastern non-eating pork man will loose his instinct to protect, but he's been infected with a much more lethal does of anti-jealous immunity, and I bet you anything the majority will be fawning and clapping ignorantly while it happens :D!

I just hated to directly compare men with pigs, given that apart from vegitarians perhaps every non-middle-eastern is a pork-eater.
But yeah.. as you've elaborated, this is the theory behind this assumption or conclusion ..
But I don't think that alzheimer is related to eating pork as many of the elderly qataris suffer from it without eating pork.
However, what I think is that perhaps parkinson's syndrome could be linked to it because, according to the Quran (beware I'm about to drop a bomb!), the origin of pigs (and monkeys) is human species and parkinson's syndrome is caused by eating food that contains 'similar stuff' like what happened to cows when farmers fed them left-overs of other cows.

QatariLady, but I wanted you to elaborate further that this conclusion is gleaned from peoples observing that apart from most other animals the male Pig feels no jealousy or is territorial towards their female Pigs when another male Pig mates them, he simply allows it.
This is why, according to theory that eating pork kills a man's natural territorial instinct to protect or feel jealousy over his woman.
It's instinctual in man and animal to ensure that only his offspring perpetuate his genes, this is a highly doccumented fact in animals.
Being territorial in the animal kingdomn doesn't just cover his mate but also his off spring.
However Pigs don't mind and it can be said that eating pork slowly and surely hinders a man natural territorial instincts.
You can see this jealousy dying in films that show that classic scene when a father is uncomfortable that his teenage daughter is getting picked up for prom.
A hearty bacon & egg breakfast the next morning and his jealousy is cured!
It can be argued that it's not a fact backed with scientific evidence, then again it can be argued that it isn’t proven wrong either..
There are also health issues associated with eating pork, parasites Alzheimer's etc, and lately Ebola has been found in swine in the Philippines but they've smothered these facts so it won't effect the pork trade especially in light of the current financial climate.
I suppose it's better to wage wars and pillage other peoples natural resources :) But those are two completely different topics

Winn, although I respect your viewpoint, it could be argued that it isn't related to cultural mindsets because I have a theory that the more a culture and mainstream media indoctrines subjects into over exposure, a type of desensitization occurs on every level: Mental, visual, emotional and physical.
I don't mean to sound condescending because I detest sweeping generalizations, but in certain cultures you will find that people have been so exposed to everything that they no longer find, lets call it default-arrousal by the norms.
These are the folks that keep pushing the borders until what turns them on is nothing short of perversion.
This is why I think that George Michael flipped sides. But please lets not start the Gay debate.

body paint is so wonderful when both husband and wife paint theirselves..
and what if the female isnt anyone's wife then?
QL: Naked bodies doesnt mean the same to everyone. For people from certain backgrounds or mindsets, its all very clinical or even artistic. There are people who dont get even a hint of anything sexual from a naked body.
Your or my feelings about nakedness is not necessarily everyone's way of looking at it. Its kinda difficult to comprehend, but I guess thats the way it is.
