Israel may attack Iran after December

Israel is making preparations to carry out military attacks in Iran after December, a French magazine reported overnight Wednesday.

According to the report in Le Canard Enchainé quoted by Israel Radio, Jerusalem has already ordered high-quality combat rations from a French food manufacturer for soldiers serving in elite units and has also asked reservists of these units staying abroad to return to Israel.

The magazine further reported that in a recent visit to France, IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi told his French counterpart Jean-Louis Georgelin that Israel was not planning to bomb Iran, but might send elite troops to conduct activities on the ground there.

These, according to the magazine, could involve the sabotage of nuclear facilities as well as assassinations of top Iranian nuclear scientists.

Israel has recently toned down rhetoric against Iran so as not to hinder US diplomatic efforts for Iranian transparency regarding its nuclear program, but neither Jerusalem nor Washington have so far made any unequivocal statements to the effect that the military option against Iran was no longer being considered.

Israel has maintained that it has the military capability to tackle Iran on its own if sanctions against the Islamic Republic prove ineffective.

Israel accuses Iran of seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. Teheran maintains that its nuclear program is peaceful.

The Jerusalem Post could not confirm Le Canard Enchainé's report.

Iran should go under military operation. Atleast remove current president ahmedinijad.

It would be the reverse to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth as claimed. This time around, shall we called these missiles again a flying dust bin. Again she wouldn't be alone. For as long as one gives a sign of a cross, then a billions of helps will be knocking at her door.

If self preservation or interest means that we adopt less selfish immediate goals by:

Respecting other countries sovereignty, autonomy, rights to their lives and lands and most of all their legal right to their God Given resources.

Giving up this witch hunt, knowing that people like you and me have the mental prowess to see that 9/11 was an Inside job an excuse to have people on both sides die, and more to come.

I really don't know about you, but many agree that War on Iraq was wrong, why are we accepting War on Iran?

Just because our economy is crumbling, is not an excuse to pillage, destroy and murder.

Because Mandi, enough is enough. The whole sham of claiming Iran's Nuclear power is a threat when Iran hasn't harmed anyone, yet we in America have a long track record of what some people may also call terrorism.

Ill start with Hiroshima, Vietnam...you can complete the list yourself.

Unless off course Israel is planning some expansion which maybe seen as a threat to Iran, Syria (Iraq is dead and gone) the only powers in the region that haven't been.....recruited yet?

Then yes, I can see that in this regard Iran would be a threat to Israel in the long run.

But tell me if you and I can't be OK with warheads whizzing over our heads (this again is IF you are in Qatar like me) then by all means, do let me know if you are OK with more people on both sides dying?

My rationale is that Iran having Nuclear power and even weapons is the only deterrent of War and by being a 'check mate' will actually promote peace.

Let's deal with our recession in a civilized less transparent way :)

Forgive my naivete, Dali, but just why would you be pleased with nuclear warheads whizzing by just over our heads? It seems that simple self-interest would indicate a wish for the opposite.

Good for them, I hope Iran and Syria remain strong as they are the last frontier protecting the region from it's "protectors"

Out of the blue and sorry to hijack this thread, but if I send a Private message to a QL buddy and it says that the buddy doesn't accept private messages how do we communicate?

If that attack does come, it would mean a huge difference globally. surely is not a good sign. Its best not to make the first move for the allies and israel.

Iranian cleric Mojtaba Zolnour, who is Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's representative in the Revolutionary Guard, said that if a US or Israeli missile lands in Iran, Iranian missiles will hit Israel in retaliation.

"Should a single American or Zionist missile land in our country, before the dust settles, Iranian missiles will blow up the heart of Israel," Zolnour was quoted as saying by the state IRNA news agency.

In March, Iran's deputy army chief made similar remarks, warning that his country would eliminate Israel if it attacked the Islamic republic.

"Should Israel take any action against Iran, we will eliminate Israel from the scene of the universe," Gen. Muhammad Reza Ashtiani said at the time in Teheran.
